Ordering specific color/options, etc.

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a Genesis but I want a specific color with the V8 and Tech pkg. It looks like there are not any available in our region at this time per the dealer after making some calls (Cabernet, V8, Tech) . So here's my Q:

Is it possible for a dealer to request specific colors/packages directly from Hyundai? I don't mind waiting months if needed. I have always factory ordered my vehicles in the past anyways (8-15 weeks). I prefer my vehicles right off the truck anyways rather than driven in from another market.

I am in the same position that you are. I have been trying to locate and purchase a a particular color combo since August and have yet to be successful despite many,many calls to dealers and directly to Hyundai. For more details please see my post in the thread entitled "Well I finally give up on getting the sterling blue/cashmere 4.6". My post is dated 11/28/08 at 7:39.
I wish I had a good suggestion to tell you but just yesterday a gentleman from Hyundai told me that various color combos are allocated to dealers and that even he could not tell me where they were going to be allocated and shipped to.
Very, very frustrating!!

I had to wait more than three months to get my Gen V-8, Tech with Cabernet Red and Cashmere interior. They kept telling me the same story you're hearing. Patience! Hopefully the right one will come along soon.

It's so much easier with the domestics. I'm trading in a diesel Excursion so that complicates things a touch. I'm still considering its more expensive competition, just disappointed the only colors available on the Genesis are what seems like 17 shades of silver.

Cabernet Red Pearl....that's the only way to fly! It's not any shade of silver!

Nah, White Satin Pearl is the way to go! (Although, I have to admit that the Cabernet Red Pearl and Sapphire Blue Pearl are very nice...)
