  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ouch

Congrats! I love the Havana Red, but this looks great as well.

That's not even remotely close to being ugly...

Thanks! I went back and forth between the two, as these were the only two Sport Prestige 3.3T models that I could find in local inventory. In the end I decided to change it up since I was getting the same make and model (even though it has been refreshed), and I ended up getting this one for $1,000 less than the red one.

^ sounds like everything worked out and insurance made you whole again. and, quick turnaround with sharp pricing! what supply/demand issue? ha ha

Well, only 2 Sport Prestige 3.3Ts in the entire Denver metro area qualifies as low supply to me! :)

But yes, everything seems to have worked out favorably for me and I'm satisfied.

I got tired looking for one, with all dealers 700 miles around charging from 3 to 5 grand over MSRP, which I wasn't going to pay. Fortunately, asked my local dealer today, after paying a $1K deposit for a silver/black Santa Fe Calligraphy 10 to 15 days away, if they finally had a G70 en route, and they said just ONE for the rest of the 2022 model year, and it's 5 to 10 days away, and it happened to be exactly what I was looking for: white/sandstorm 3.3T SP ($52,225 MSRP), so bought it too. Ha ha. No mark-ups at all on either vehicle, other than a $125 doc fee (plus TTL, of course), which is quite reasonable. The only thing is it's the alta white, rather than Uyuni white, so just hope it's the same quality paint job, just not pearl (which is fine with me). The good news is it'll be white for sure, and not a possible shade of blue, gray, etc., like with most pearls. But got charged $400 for illuminated door sills. Oh well. Should join the family soon :).

^ you're actually a bit low for the headlights. some ass-hat backed in to me late last year - he said he wasn't used to driving a car with no backup camera. yeah, that didn't fly with me either. nor did him not hearing my horn or seeing me in his mirrors. it's not like my colour isn't obvious enough. we had a fun "chat", although it was quite one-sided.

i needed a new bumper cover and passenger headlight assembly among other bits and bobs. that headlight part alone was $3k CAD. my overall damage seemed relatively innocuous overall, but the tab came to $8300. i was floored when the shop gave me the invoice - which was covered by the other guy's insurance of course.

so if this cost $8300 CAD i'd have to say the OP is looking well north of $20k USD.

I also damaged my front end due to almost pulling the bumper off when I got it hood over about a 6" rod and making the mistake of trying to back up. No damage to the headlight. The estimate for this job is $2900. Happened at the of January and still waiting for parts 104 days later. About a month ago I pushed the bumper back in the retaining slot and it looks pretty good although still several cracks in the bumper.
