  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,
Still getting to know my recent purchased '16 3.8 2wd.
My first push button start car, so for the first time I'm pressing the brake pedal when I start up.
The brake pedal is basically hard as a rock every morning; to me this shows loss of vacuum in the booster.
For comparison: our '03 Honda and '04 Toyota still have booster vacuum, even after 3-4 days without starting.

So, in the interest of learning what is normal for the '16 3.8:
? Do you guys find a rock hard pedal in the morning, or a softer pedal with vacuum still in the booster?

Thanks!

My 2018 G80 is the same way. It seems weird to me, but once I depress it just a little bit so I can start it it feels like any brake pedal I've ever pressed so I've stopped thinking about it.

Same here.

Same feeling as the rest of you. Just for the hell of it I went out to see how it worked. When I placed the car in park & turned the engine off the brake pedal depressed normally. After about 30 seconds, rock hard. I can only assume the booster losing pressure, or something of that nature, fits into the picture somewhere. To tell you the truth never even used the parking park, learned how that worked today also. Since Lotus Engineering had input into tweaking the suspension & handling, starting in 2015, that may be their doing. I also have a 2015 Audi A5, break pedal depress is normal with the engine off (until I repeatedly depress it then is becomes hard) like the G.
