P2422 and crank but no start

My 2012 3.8 is throwing an occasional (every few weeks) code, P2422. I've done some reading here and it looks like this can be resolved by replacing the charcoal canister. I'm also having the problem with fuel nozzle shut off while fueling up my tank so I ordered and will be replacing the canister. The other issue is an occasional (every few weeks) crank but no start condition with no codes. The symptom is with warm or cold engine, press the start button and it cranks but does not start. I press the button again to stop the cranking then press it again and it starts right up. I have replaced the CPS with OEM and it did not effect the problem. Is this likely a fuel pump issue or can the saturated canister cause the no start with no codes condition? I'm at around 96k miles.

So I ended up replacing the charcoal canister after reading the attached TSB. The TSB basically states that the P2422 is a code set for excessive vacuum on the fuel vent system when the ECM is attempting to pull fuel vapors into the intake for burning. The excessive vacuum can be caused by anything in the venting system that restricts this flow such as a valve stuck closed, kinked line, clogged vent air filter, spider webs etc... The one thing the TSB does not mention is a clogged charcoal vapor canister. I had already replaced the small vent filter next to the charcoal canister at 74k so I knew that was not the issue. After pulling the old canister, I attempted to blow into the inlet and there was a ton of restriction. I then blew into the inlet of the new canister and had no restriction. The new OEM canister weighed in at 3 lbs 1.1oz and the old canister was 3 lbs 12.4oz (11.3 ounces of fuel trapped in the old canister!) The new charcoal canister replacement solved my P2422, fuel nozzle cut off and the occasional crank but no start issue.

It's very easy. Access is in the back portion of the trunk.

I was able to fix the fuel nozzle shut off problem by replacing the canister close valve that sits next to the filter and the canister.
