Can anyone tell me if the G70 is only shift by wire? My brother got a Stinger GT1, over a GT2 because in Sport Mode, the GT2 will come out of Manual mode every time the car stops, eliminating being able to use the paddles. I know these cars share the same engine/drivetrain but do they also share this stupid "feature"? If so, which option level does not have this? On the Stinger the shifter gate is different as well... but everything I have seen on the G70 shows them all looking the same.

I really like the looks of the G70 better than the Stinger, so I am trying to find the equivalent option level in the G70, as the Stinger GT1. Thanks in advance!
 
Yes on the 3.3, I can't speak to the 2.0 as I've never been in one.
G70 shifts back into "D" mode when you are in sport mode and come to a stop. It's slightly annoying, but I just hit the downshift paddle after coming to a stop and it transitions back to "manual" shift mode. It's muscle memory for me now...

IIRC in comfort, paddle shifting reverts back to auto after a certain amount of time with no use of paddles... But I'm 95% in sport mode so I could be remembering that incorrectly.

I drove both before purchasing, and am 100% glad I got the G70. It just feels more nimble, and looks better. Downside is there is better aftermarket support for the stinger. Most drive train and suspension parts are interchangeable, but you have to do a little research to make sure. There are also significantly less offerings for exterior bolt ons (if youre into that stuff).
 
I believe if TC and SC are fully off in Sport, then the manual mode gear selection will stay.

In sport it will flip back to auto at every stop. While you’re driving it will stay locked in manual mode though
