If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hey guys, I have a 2015 5.0 and noticed about 3 different paint chips on my hood while detailing my car. The car is kept in very good condition and shouldnt have any problems. I understand chips on the bumper but these are high up on the hood. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and what should I do?

I'm thinking of the Xpel coating to protect the front, although it seems fairy expensive. I was quoted around $1500 to cover the full front of the car including the hood, fenders, mirrors, and inside of the door handles. That seems a little steep, but I've never done the full front before. I had something similar on the front of the wheel flares on my 911 and it worked great at stopping the chips.

I've used professional chip repair services in the past and they usually do a great job fixing he chips. You might want to get them fixed then add a coating to protect the front if you think the car is susceptible.

definitely invest in a clear protection film... worth it IMO

How much was your coating and how much did you get covered? I'm looking into it, but was a little surprised at the first quote. I'm not sure what the typical rate would be?

Thanks!

I was going that way but I opted against it

Now when I get my GTR next yr, oh hells yeah.. thats a must

I had the full hood, partial fenders, front bumper & headlights,
mirrors, top of back bumper and door handle pockets done with SunTek clear film.
Self healing features and 5yr warranty.
$885

4th car I've had done. Never regretted doing it and usually a plus on resale.
