  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

@Edmguy just point your cursor next to whoever you wanna start a conversation with and you will see a prompt. See attached image.

Thanks, but it must be a new member restriction as I only see the follow and ignore options. I guess I need to do my time. And I did have someone message me so I can receive, I just can't initiate.

Sorry edmguy i will be at the airport today with the wife

That sucks! :(

Wait until mine arrives before a meet gets set up, please!
Will do! I will also bring my G70 to the Windermere Cars and Coffee meets on Sundays.

I got bird poop on my Xpel yesterday (former Edmonton G80 sport demo) and I cleaned it off with a gas station window washer (foam part not squeegee) before taking it through a car wash. I noticed it scratched it quite noticeably as a result of this and it's quite upsetting that it's this fragile. Treat it well if you go with Xpel.

I plan to have a detailer paint correct my just-purchased G70 prior to wrapping the front with SunTek protective film and coating the entire car with Modesta ceramic coating. Do any of you have actual experience with Washington, DC metro area detailers?

First thing we did, was have a 3m full bra installed on the vehicle, plus 12 " up the side of the doors and rocker panels. It will help to keep your Genesis in great condition and add to the resale value. We learned by experience, with public use of cinder on the roads during inclement weather conditions. Not a pretty sight after the winter.

Is that for private resale or trade-in? I've never had a dealer care about the condition of the paint on any of the 5 cars I traded in. All they cared about was the Carproof record.
I can see how private buyers would care about how the paint looks.

Both actually. When the dealer sees a clear bra, they know they can get and ask more for the used vehicle and usually do. You can also squeeze them for more on the trade-in. Of course they make entirely too much on a used vehicle anyway. Much higher percentage profit then on a new vehicle. When selling privately it's even better as you can ask and usually get more for a vehicle were the front end isn't pitted and marked up.

Nice. Here they don't give two shits. No dealer has even done a walk around on my car. Heck even my extended Acura Plus warranty didn't matter. They don't even care about service records.

Most of the time they'll just tell you to reclaim your warranty prorated or not. If you haven't, go back into your Acura dealer and cash in the extended warranty. You paid for it and even if it's prorated you might get something back. Of course it depends on how long you had the Acura also.
