  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pair a Phone Help.

my Treo 750p pairs automatically. But it constanly drops and reconnects bluetooth all the time. It might be that the processor on the phone is not all that powerful and it drops bluetooth temporarily when its multitasking like checking email, and sms alerts/notifications etc.

For the most part, its just a nag screeen as it auto-pairs right back up after a few seconds. However there have been more than an few amount of calls that have come in during the "autoconnecting" part that I have had to answer on the handset to have it automatically switched back to the car's system and NOT in private mode. It is a little bit distracting to say the least to expect your car to ring when only your phone does to fumble around, answer your phone only to have your car end up stealing the call. (if that makes sense)

Wondering if anyone else is seeing a similar thing.

Hello fellow genesis owners,

My 4.6 (Tech Package) still is loosing connection to the bluetooth "head unit" from time to time. This issue was reported several weeks ago to the local dealer. At the time, it was an "unknown" issue-my service advisor who also owns a V6 (No-Tech Package) reported to me that he has never had an issue yet regarding the pairing. Just a few days ago he reports to me that this issue is unraveling in the cars that has the tech package-two different units from the "non-tech package cars". According to my advisor, Hyundai has just noted the issue but is not calling it a "recall" but a "campaign"-yeah you may know why.... anyway I'm bringing my car in the next week because Hyundai has just release a "software" update to the head unit that is suppose to take care of the issue. The advisor stated that if the "software" doesn't work then they would need to replace the whole head unit in the vehicle. I don't know if I even trust the dealer putting the vehicle "head unit" back together since the techs there do not have much experience working on the genesis. At this time it is a little frustrating that a new vehicle like this-is having all these issues with the bluetooth but I need this matter to be taken cared of so I could go on with my life. Feels like MICROSOFT all over again putting products on the shelf without fully testing the issue and then releasing software upgrades and patches to fix. Well one way or the other BIG INCONVENIENCE to have to bring your car in to the local dealer when you don't know if the matter will be reolved.....until then I will report any progress from this matter.

I do have an update for my never working Bluetooth system. I was not even allowed to go past the Pair a phone option. The dealership that I took it to, worked with Hyundai Engineers and they have determined they will need to replace the audio unit. It is still ordered and has not arrived, hopefully soon. Will let you guys know of the results afterwards. Thanks.

I know that this might sound a bit strange, but if you get past the inconvience factor (admitedly sometimes not an easy thing to do), I think it is a really great sign that Hyundai is really listening.

I don't remember many times where GM or Ford jumped on an issue when "small" numbers seemed to surface. You had to pester, yell, scream and holler to get anyone to admit that there MIGHT be an issue, let alone fix it. It usually involved going at least to a district level to get anyone to pay attention.

Beyond your local dealer, Hyundai itself seems genuinely committed to resolving these issues as they come up. I'm impressed.

my BLACKBERRY STORM (verizon) was working fine since i brought the car (Nov 08) in my 4.6 v8 then all of a sudden today it wouldnt connect at all so i tried it over & over & over again but it still wouldnt connect, so i deleted genesis off of my blackberry to reinstall it & deleted it from the car & tried to reinstall & after going to connect on the screen in the car & pair, nothing happens. It wont search for a phone at all so after trying for about 2 hours i went by the dealer today & looked at all those clowns trying to play with my car when i told them what the problem was ( it has to be reset) but now since thier computer is down they cant do anything for me so im out of my bluetooth ( yes im very pissed right about now) I also went by this same dealer (yes i brought my car from them) last week to have my air bag reset as per a TSB but thier computer was down then also, has anyone else had this problem with the bluetooth & got thiers fixed.......?
