  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I cancelled XM since it was seeming a little too expensive for how little I'm in my car. I scoured through the DIS Manual and played with the settings and I'm only getting 2 annoying options for Pandora. I have an iPhone 6+ if that effects anything with the options.

1) I can open Pandora before/as I'm getting in my car then go to bluetooth audio and it starts playing, but I only have the skip song button.

2) I can connect my phone via USB, choose the Pandora option under Media-->Pandora then open Pandora on my Phone (maybe skip this step by opening it first?)-->Then press ok in the media menu to begin playback. This gives full options including my different channels or shuffle, skip, back, thumbs up/down, and album art.

Both options seem slightly annoying and tedious is there a more efficient way to do this?

My better scenario would be to either have it automatically start as my default when I turned my car on or simply open it on my phone and it load into a full version of pandora (without plugging it in). Not the end of the world, but seems like something that's almost there, but just tedious enough that I'll probably not do it half the time and just listen to the radio. Thanks for any advice!!

Anyone have any luck with this? I've played with it more this weekend, and have never gotten any setup that works much better than described above.

Not promoting XM, but the service can be had for significantly less than the quoted prices by dealing with the Retention Department.

When you expire, call them tell them it's to much and you will be a fraction of the original quoted fee. May still not make sense if the service is not for you, but it can be gotten down to the equivalent of a few cups of coffee a month with a little bargaining.

You should be able to get it for around $89/year. Say your neighbour pays this and miraculously they will offer it to you. If they do not, just say you no longer want the service. Put it this way, a few dollars a month for them is better than nothing at all so yes they are very negotiable up to a certain point which happens to be $89/year.

Was getting $24.99 for six month terms a few years ago for XM Select.

When my trial first ran out they offered me $25 for 6 months so I took advantage of that. But now the best they say they have is I think $96 for 12 months with taxes and fees that's over $10/month. I definitely could see that being a deal for some, but I drive about 6000 miles a year and in a typical week only spend 3 hours in the car.

That's why I was hoping for a streaming solution that was more seamless than what I was getting to work.

I did something similar with rhapsody and tasker: basically when the phone recognizes genesis Bluetooth connection it starts rhapsody and all I need is to press one button on the dashboard.I don't care much for thumb up/down thingie though. Also when Bluetooth disconnects I mercilessly kill rhapsody[emoji1]

Pandora playing right away from my Android. I don't need to launch it all on a phone. It's started automatically when I select Pandora on DIS system
