Panoramic Sun Roof

My 2019 G80 has a panoramic Sun Roof that has an annoying creaking sound when the body is flexed over bumps combined with a constant rattle like a loose nut or bolt hitting against metal every time we drive it. During my lease visits to the dealership for oil changes they told me if it continues it may require a replacement which is a very big job and Genesis will not respond quickly to my issues. Also, Hyundai of Mahwah NJ told me that based on the sheer weight and poorly constructed supports for the glass, this is a complaint for many others as well. My wife and I tried driving around looking for this metal-on-metal rattle and creaking noise but we can't find it. We are afraid this creak and rattle (Which is getting worse) will turn into safety issues and fall in on us while we are driving. I only have 25k on the car currently and can not deal with this creak and rattle all of the time. Does anyone have information on this issue and a root cause and solution?

The creaking sound in the panoramic sunroof is a well known issue from these cars and Hyundai/Genesis know about it. I had a 2016 Hyundai Genesis which I had to use the lemon law due to several problems especially the panoramic roof and it was taken 4 times and the creaking sounds/rattles was never fixed… As of now I have 2019 G80 Ultimate V8 and I’m having the same issue and unfortunately I gave up taking it to service, the only time it won’t rattle is with the shade close.

Thank you for the information. For me, the sound is muffled but does not go away when the shade is closed. The creaking is our largest concern for safety reasons. I complained about this issue during my lease but the Mahwah NJ dealership dealer told me they could not perform the necessary replacement. Fast forward to today and I had little choice but to purchase the vehicle based on prices being through the roof in 2022 for lease cars. They also told me this would fall under our 60,000-mile warranty but I working to confirm that with Genesis Corporate.

Question for those that had their Panoramic Sunroof replaced, Approx. how long in days or weeks does it take for the replacement of the Sunroof?

Does anyone have advice for handling the immediate comments by the dealers to deny replacement and attempts to fix this issue before the replacement is approved?
