  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The New Honda Accord looks similar to the "G" from certain angles..

Ya especially from rear looks like Genesis before 2012 models!! But genesis is way more luxurious and has much more quality.

More quality than a Honda Accord? NOT!! The best built car ever. Hyundai is maybe ahead of Ford in quality and that's about it.

Come on! You cant compare a front drive car with rear wheel drive car, Genesis drives way better and feels more luxurious, and regarding quality, there are lots of cheap plastics in Accord but in genny where ever you touch feels soft and premium. Leather wraped dash in genny is some thing that you will never see in accord

From my personal experience my Genesis is overall more reliable than my previous car, a 2005 Acrua(Honda).

I owned accords for 14 years ('97 and '04), and they had soft dashes (albeit non-leather). Interiors were solid, never "plasticky" like their american mid-range/mid-size counterparts. The vinyl was Uniroyal Naugahide, the best on the market for car interiors for feel, color match, and texture match (also used in John Deere seats).

Come on guys! You cant compare Genesis with accord, the accord is even not at the same class of genesis, its comparable to toyota camry, hyundai azera, nissan altima.. Genesis is comparable to larger sedans like infiity M, lexus GS, mersedes E class, 5 series..

whoops, I didn't see this thread... but this was supposed to compare the E class to the G, not the accord!

and no, it's nowhere near the same car

I did not think we sought to compare! it was more "look alike" lines etc..:grouphug:

Comparing the Genesis to the M series Infiniti, one can draw the same conclusions as your Genesis to Accord statement. By comparison, the Genesis interior feels inferior with regards to quality of materials. As well it should; a top tier M is over $20k more when comparing MSRP's. Not bashing, just telling like it is.

What is that thing from inside that makes genesis feel inferior with regards to quality? Can you make that clear for us please?

This. Even the older M35 has much more attention to Fit and Finish than the Genesis. Higher end materials, higher end mentality and layout. Lower end screen in the older versions though but with more information and customization. I love the M's, personally.

As a general comment with regards to quality, I think OneFunGenesis nailed it with his comment below: "Higher end materials, higher end mentality and layout."

A glaring example is the quality (or lack of) in seating surface materials found in the Genesis: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showpost.php?p=116373&postcount=68

This was evident to me within 500 miles of taking delivery of the Genesis.

The 99 Cent Store digital clock (vs. an analog clock) is a visual indication that Hyundai cut some corners to hit a price point, but looks completely out of place.

The carpet is much thinner and of lower quality than one would find in an M series Infiniti. My driver's kick panel was already showing wear with less that 7,000 miles.

These are just 3 examples that relate to "that thing from inside that makes genesis feel inferior with regards to quality", and these only relate to quality of construction.

Again, I am not bashing the Genesis; it hits a price point and has a lot going for it for the money. However, it most certainly is not in the same class as the Infiniti M series as far as refinement and sophistication.

I could not agree more.^^

I agree carpet and clock. Other materials fair but not bad

I'm not sure an Azera is in line with an Accord. Maybe a Sonata. IMO, suggesting that the comparison between Accord and Genesis is similar to a comparison between Genesis and an M is laughable.

I really thought we were J U S T comparing design/body lines..
Who brought the actual comparison of car 4 car?

The problem is in US genesis, well last year i was in Korea and i know a Korean guy has a genesis there, well he has about 100k and seats still look like first day, the interior materials of it is way higher quality than US genny, actually Genesis made great with high quality but in the US genny unfortunately they use lower quality materials, if you see a korean genny you will just say WOW
