  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a new (to me) 2015 Genesis with Tech package and the LCD shows the attached image when I have Parking Assist engaged and am slowly moving forward into a parking space.
When in Reverse, Parking Assist works fine with the beeps and the LCD showing Orange and Red zones as I approach objects.
Basically Parking Assist is working at the rear of the car but not the front.

I assume I have to take this to the dealer but I'm wondering if anyone here has seen this before and knows of any troubleshooting I can do before spending time at the dealer.

Thanks

For 2015 models, the warranty on those items "may" only be 3 yrs or 36K miles (I am not sure), so don't put off going to the dealer for too long.

Thanks. This 2015 CPO is under 5,000 miles and is 15 months since new so is still under factory warranty for everything. It also has the Platinum CPO wrap warranty.
The annoying thing is that this error was happening during my test drive at the dealer on the weekend. It went away while driving with the sales guy which I now understand is because Parking Assist stops working over a certain speed. I didn't know enough about the car to realize there was a problem. Crazy they can sell a newly CPO'd car with Parking Assist broken. If that dealer wasn't 1.5 hrs drive away I'd just head back there today. Will need to go to a local dealer instead if I can't solve it with a reboot or something.

You can check with your dealer about the warranty. CPO cars extend the drivetrain warranty on used cars to the same as original owners (100K miles or 10 years). They are supposed to carefully inspect everything on CPO cars, but based on comments from other forum members, that is rarely done at Hyundai dealers.

In addition to the CPO drivetrain warranty to 10/100k, the CPO Platinum Wrap warranty from Hyundai (additional cost) covers everything in the car to 10/100k. The lesser Gold CPO Wrap warranty does not cover Nav, Radio etc (the stuff that ends at 3/36k on the original new warranty). Yes they are supposed to check the car thoroughly for the certification process but I think it's become a widespread problem in the industry that CPO process is often not done properly.
