  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello. My Parking Assist light is on; when I push the button off and on, the icon appears just for a second in the display. But, there are no audible sounds when I'm getting close to an object. I checked, and the sensors are clean. Any ideas? I couldn't find any add'l. info in the manual. Appreciate any help.

How close are you getting? The slower you go the shorter their range seems to be I notice.

I'm getting too close ... if I relied on the PA, I would have hit my car plenty of times. According to the manual, the buzzer is supposed to sound based on the distance ... intermittent, faster, and then continuous. I don't hear anything at all.

Interesting. Warranty time... and I think that is the first time I have seen that issue posted to the forum.

OK, thanks much for taking the time to respond!!

I had the same problem as OP when I first purchased my pre-owned Genny.

Dealer found that the front sensors were painted over and the main wiring harness for the parking assist module was faulty. They replaced all four sensors in the front and the wiring harness. All under warranty. YMMV

Painted over? That tells me the bumper was repainted - or replaced and painted on-car. That does not happen at the factory.

Yes, painted over. I know, it sounds terrible, but it doesn't look any different.
Dealer informed me previous owner was a picky guy and had the bumper painted to cover up the stone chips from daily driving. Wasn't happy to hear about it. But, dealer took care of the repairs honestly and easily.
