  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After a brushless car wash,my sensors didn't work when I pulled into my garage. They were fine this morning.Called dealer, they said this is a first!
Bring car in Fri. morning for service.Anyone else have this happen? Maybe
it's a simple fix,but we'll see.

Are you sure one of the carwash guys didn't turn them off by bumping the parking sensor toggle button?

I'm sure they're waterproof. :D j/k
Is this rear sensors only, or all around?

Dan

Try switching them on/off a few times. The dash display should show the sensor field when you first switch them on. If it doesn't maybe there is a problem with the unit.

By brushless I am assuming you mean:
Touchless where they spray only water and chemicals at high pressure to clean your car.
Not sure if it affected the sensors some how, but I would stay away from those places. By it's very nature, in order to get the car clean they have to use very caustic chemicals to remove the dirt, which will remove wax, the primary surface protectant on your car. Also, that much pressure on the paints surface can also cause micromarring on the paint as well. Undercarriage and wheel wells this is acceptable. On paint surface this is not.

front & rear not working. I did toggle the switch also, still no good.If the dealer can fix it,I will keep you posted.

wife used car llast nite & this morning.sensors are now working? Go fiqure, maybe something did get wet at the wash? Doubt I will be going to the shop now on fri.unless they act up again before then.

Just had same issue. The back sensor works and makes the warning bleeps. The front sensor shows it in the dash that something is near but won't make sound. Had to turn off sensor, turn off car, turn on car, turn on sensor, then it worked.

Stopped at an intersection, front sensor went wild every time a car passed in front of me. Had to turn it off.

I think its a good idea to just turn the sensor off when not needed and on when needed even though its a pain in the rear.

Just had my front right parking sensor start going off after had car into car wash. Found that it was detached within the bumper. Appears the water pressure must have loosened it. Had the same happen to the front left about 5 months back after scraping curb when parking. That time it vibrated the sensor loose. $55 to repair. They must just be held in place with a bit of glue.

Interestingly I've had my car for over 6 months and wondered why I could never get the parking sensors to work. Candidly I haven't driven it very much since acquiring but I did get the manual out to see why it wasn't working. Guess what? If the dealer is to be believed, the car was built without the module being installed. They ordered one under warranty and now it works just fine. I find it to be really curious that something as significant as the module which controls the parking sensor could accidentally get left off. Thoughts?

Same issue with front sensors. Took it the AutoBell car wash, not brushless, and they quit working. Can't believe they could come loose that easily. Also, was driving at approximately 45mph and slowed for a car turning right, got a little close but not in danger and the a warning on the dash went off, couldn't read it while driving. Red in color. Was that the front sensor warning at speed?
