  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Passenger seat making vibrating sound

My passenger seat was making a vibrating sound on bumpy roads. Sitting still I could hit the seat and make the same sound. I found it was the reclining lever. The plastic handle was about 1.5 hairs width away from just barely making contact with the plastic of the side bolster. On bumpy roads it would move just enough to hit the plastic.

So.....I went to Home Depot, got some black, thin, foam non-skid for tool box shelves (not the webbed looking kind), cut it into the half moon shape, spayed adhesive on it and glued it in place. Voila! no more vibrating. And you can't tell it's there. Then I decided to make some small squares of this stuff to place right where my seat buckle hits the side panels behind each seat when you aren't using the seat belt. Now, instead of a loud clacking sound it's more of a dull thud. It blends in well and looks like it "might" have come from the manufacturer.
