Pay $$ for Carplay???

Hello,
I'm the owner of Hyundai Genesis 2014 that comes from american market.
The car has been shipped to poland, and I use it here. I was wondering if it is possible to enable the android auto(AA) in my car. I've tried to update the infotainment but it is too difficult to do it from here on USA exclusive website. I know that Polish users have it(AA) in their cars but they couldnt help me at the polish dealership. Would you be so kind and give me answers to my questions?
Is it possible to update 2014 infotainment to the new version?
Can anyone share the update file?

I believe when I updated mine you had to have the SD card plugged in to the computer and there were several steps that installed the AA update to that card. I dont believe there was any file actually downloaded to the computer unless it was in a temp directory.

If you still have that SD there are files on it that can be cloned to other SD cards.

At least for the Sonata, the free CarPlay/Android Auto update definitely included downloading and running this file (the link does not work any more): https://updateaccess.hyundai.com/GlobalAVN/HMA/BINARY/AVAIL/LF/2015/AVN4.0/ST.LF.USA.CPRC/SFX/PROD/lf15avn.exe (or .dmg if you're on a Mac, "LF" stands for the current generation Sonata). I'd be very surprised if it was different for the Genesis (aside from perhaps the file name). I'd also be surprised if that file would have copied itself to the SD card in the update process, but it should definitely remain in the computer's Downloads folder (or wherever you saved it) unless manually deleted afterwards.

Does any of you know if buying sd card (2018 or newer version) might solve my problem and the system will update then?
Can I rely on any of ebay sellers? Can you recommend any seller?

I would buy directly from mapnsoft and save the hassle of bricking your system from an unknown seller.

You probably would do better if you could get a copy of the SD card cloned and mailed to you.
Prawdopodobnie zrobiłbyś lepiej, gdybyś otrzymał kopię karty SD sklonowanej i wysłanej do ciebie pocztą.

Just FYI: Tried this up in Canada. 1. No free DL any longer and told me to go through mnsoft. Funny, they CDN site has the update (12.5) for $175 in US funds. I did note that they offer the same DL on the American site for $145. - When I made that point with Hyundai CDN They told me to call mnsoft and deal with them directly. THey mention that the Free DL for AA/CP is no longer available. I've yet to call them. Not liking the fact I have to throw another 200 bones towards getting Android auto.

So I paid for the update.

Two things:

- The download takes a long time. If it does not work the first time. Delete the download file before you start again. The program will continue the download but because it is adding the data to the original file you started to download, it will give you an error every time. I almost though that the 30 bucks for the SD card was almost worth it. But once I got on the phone with tech support, we both figured out the issue.

- Make sure that you are not going anywhere and can leave the car on when you do the install. You do NOT want to shut the radio off while the install is going on. And please be patient. It take a while.

Other than that, it was fairly easy to do and did not have any issues with installing the card in the radio.

I feel like I got a brand new radio with the Android Auto. It works great.

I just ran into the same issue I tried to get the software after finally getting the vin released into my name, I had to go to the dealership to get it done since none of the automated systems worked.

Does anyone have the old file I can download it was free for some time but now they want to charge for it since they changed the policy in January.

The myhyundai link points me to MnSOFT where I have to pay 175 to download the software. I have no use for the maps I just want to have android auto. Even if I wanted to pay for it they are not offering it right now until mid April due to a new update coming out.

Looks like you're going to have to wait until mid April, sorry. On the bright side, there might be some nice software updates (besides the maps) in the new version (v13) compared to the now-unavailable previous version (v12.5). That possibility is the main reason I have not updated my '15 w/Tech yet.

The most disappointing part is they were still offering the upgrade for free when I purchased the car. But I could not access the download due to issues getting the vin released into my name.

I just performed the update for my father's 2015 Genesis 5.0 with the regular smaller screen. Just googled the instructions and had no issues. Both Android Auto and Apple car play work seamlessly. I did this maybe 5 weeks ago.
