  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking for feedback on Performance Chip Tuning Stage 2 or 3.

I just purchased 2015 5.0 and am considering buying a chip for the car. I drive it everyday but do drive quite aggressively. Are there others that I should consider?

Pretty sure that only works on the newer turbo engines, not the 5.0. To my knowledge there aren't really any options to chip or re-program ECU for the 5.0.

There are no tuning options for the 2015 5.0. Anyone selling you a "performance chip" is selling a scam. This car doesn't even use a MAF to use those ripoff chips either. The only thing that might make you feel faster is a Sprint Booster...but that's it, it will only make you feel faster.

The only known performance gains for this car are high flow filters (like K&N) but the gain there is negligible. You can also do exhaust work to unlock a few more horses, supposedly about 25HP can be gained from a catback system.

Like mentioned above, the 2015+ 5.0 engine do not have any boxed tunes available(maybe some custom tunes out there). However, the 2015+ 5.0 engine is very strong and has great performance so an ecu tune is really not needed to make this car respectfully quick aside from a pedal booster(Sprint Booster,Pedal Commander, etc.) that reduces the throttle-lag.

A pedal booster and performance air filters will get your 5.0 as quick as many smaller sport sedans with 0-60mph times ranging from 4.6-5 seconds just by pressing the gas pedal from a dead stop., which is insanely quick for car of this size that do not have a 6.4L Hemi under the hood.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Has anyone experimented with a shift kit to make the shifts harder?

A stock 5.0 is good for 0-60 in 5 sec flat - plenty quick for something this big. Since I have a 2015 Ultimate, I can put it in Sport mode to stiffen the shocks if I want to play... Most of the time I don't even bother. The Genesis is a cruiser at it's core.

When I started looking for a Genny the 5.0 was not even a thought. But once I did some research, I wanted nothing else but a 5.0 Ultimate. So freaking happy I went the v8 route. Best road trip car ever!!👍

I agree. I've had a couple of Infiniti G sedans (both S models), which were great cars, but unforgiving on long trips. With the Genesis, I arrived at my destinations in good shape!

I agree that the 2015 5.0 Ultimate gives you the total experience. The lesser models are good cars, however the 2015 5.0 Ultimate is best blend of performance and comfort that the Genesis brand offered in my opinion. Rides like the Eqqus/G90 and handles like a G70 with summer tires.

After 2017, the Genesis/G80 models best feature(active sport suspension and V8) had been carved up and watered down between the Sport and Ultimate models.

I enjoy driving my 2015 5.0 Ultimate and do not want to part with it, which is weird for me to say since I like to change cars every two years or so due to boredom.

Well said Carguy75!

I intend to drive the wheels off of mine... I do occasionally worry about how much $ the electronic shocks are going to cost to replace though...

Hopefully someone will come up with a system that has conventional shock w/ a circuit board that tells the computers that all is well... Just like for some older Airmatic Mercedes.

I as well, I hope to drive this thing for a long time to come. I am kind of fortunate in the fact that I dont need the car for everyday transportation. And she lives inside out of the weather and the harsh sun. Love my Genny!🙂
