I tried to find in the forum but could not. I am looking at this performance chip and was wondering if it actually works as promised!

The chip promises extra 7 to 15MPG and about 75HP. It did not give any name to the technology instead gave following description:

"Fuel injection technology is reasonably simplistic and can easily be studied and improved. With performance in mind, our engineers noticed a common problem among all fuel injected vehicles. Many were running an unnecessary rich mixture of fuel and oxygen out of the factory, wasting fuel while making engines sluggish compared to their performance tuned counterparts."

I know that lots of transportation companies used certain methods in their vehicles but not sure if that can be used with our cars. Has anyone used anything like this?

Chips can be modified or replaced to add increased performance and/or gas mileage, however this one appears to be totally bogus. Nothing is going to net you 7-15 MPG short of a different car. Especially given no car is listed on this site, it is totally snake oil.

Sounds like the secret carburetors that get 100 MPG that Detroit is hiding because they don't want to hurt the oil cartel. (GM would rather spend zillions trying to squeeze a few extra MPG out of a Buick.)

If Hyundai could get 7-15 extra MPG by changing the programming on the chip, don't you think they would do it? It would cost a lot less than putting in 6-speed ZF transmissions to squeeze out an extra couple of MPG.
 
I agree that this sounds bogus, for the reasons mentioned above as well as others. In general, you don't get power without fuel. Yes, you can make the combustion or exhaust process more efficient, but you need more air for more power, and the more air you need the more fuel you need.

It's also a probability that at least on the V8, because of the volume of the sales for the car, I'm not thinking the chances are looking good for a chip. Perhaps the V6 version, as that is the one available in Korea, where there the car is sold in greater volumes.
 
A quick glance at some of the "chips" at the website above appear to be electronics that claim to "clean up" the power supply, and nothing to do directly with the computer chip that controls the engine.
 
I think you will first see genuine "chips" from known entities like Stillen and HKS. These entities either reprogam your ECU and place another small computer in-line with your ECU. It is doubtful that any reprogam will produce significant gas mileage increases. Under normal closed loop mode your car operates at 14.5-7:1 air/fuel. In theory you could gain a little economy by leaning mixture to say 15.2:1 and minor ignition timing changes, but these modifications mean changing emission settings, which most tuners are loath to do for legal reasons.
Gains in performance are usually achieved by changes to the open loop mode, which occurs at wide open throttle or heavy throttle. Manufacturers tune open loop overly rich. Material gains can be achieved by leaning the mixture. Also, tuners sometimes "adjust" ESC settings so it can be completely turned off. Likewise they can turn off torque management (reduction) which is often in lower gears. They can raise rpm shift points to actual redline, and remove any top speed restrictions. All this requires either access to factory programming or reverse engineering. Tuners typically charge at least $300+ for genuine retuning.

In turbo applications, many chips do in fact increase gas mileage at normal driving speeds, but do in fact use more gas if you decide to use the extra power and torque created bu the reprogramming. I had a Passat TDI. standard hp was 136 and standard torque was 247 lb/ft. I added a stage 1 tuning chip which increased boost from the turbo and reprogrammed fuel delivery, throttle, transmission shipt points. I saw a legitimate 4 mpg improvement in day-to-day driving. The chip bumped horsepower up to 157 and torque to 308 lb/ft. The chip also created many a suprised face on other motorists when they saw my TDI launch from a standstill.
