  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Greetings.

I just picked up my 2012 Genesis R-Spec yesterday and am having fun with it so far.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.2.2 and it paired fine including the phonebook download. However, I can't stream audio.

When I look at the BT profile on my phone, it only shows the Phone Audio profile and not the Media Audio profile.

I've googled around and haven't found anything so far. Anyone have hints here to try?

Sorry to tell you the bad news, but the 2012 Tech package (your vehicle) does not stream BT audio. It doesn't doesn't matter which cell phone you own, your 17 speaker Tech package audio system doesn't have that capability. 2012 Basic and Premium package cars do stream BT audio. Makes no sense but, sadly, it is true. Hyundai corrected this ridiculous error in 2013. This is just one of the reasons why I did not buy a '12 Tech model.

There have been some postings here concerning aftermarket streaming options. Suggest you search the forum for those threads. You might also want to beat your dealer around the head and shoulders and negotiate a good price on a '13 R-spec.

In any case, welcome to da group. Lots of great info here and many opinions on every subject.

I think the premium does not either. When combined with Tech. I will check my build sheet tonight. My 5.0 has all options including the mud flaps.. Except for R-Spec.

In the base 2012 Hertz I had rented before I bought, I was not able to have BT audio work with iPhone.

Please don't confuse the issue. The 2012 base model (7 spkrs) and the Premium package (14 spkrs) models both stream Bluetooth audio. However, when the Tech package is added with the 17 spkr audio, Bluetooth streaming is NOT available.

@PMC. Thanks for the clarification.

Of course, the 2012 R-Spec has the Premium and Technology package included by default so this will be at issue for all R-Specs. It seems that BlueTooth for the Tech package is provided via the 6 CD/DVD changer head unit that is added and thus the different functionality. I'm making this assumption since the CD changer unit in the dash has the BT logo on it.

I'm familiar with the apps that allow audio to be redirected to a phone headset, but they're all mono that I've seen.

I think I'll just buy a one of those BT to stereo adapters that are USB powered. I can leave it on in the console powered by the USB port and my phone will pair with it automatically and use the AUX input of the system. I don't expect I'll stream from my phone often anyways so that seems better than an app that requires an extra step to enable/disable it just to get mono audio.

Thanks for the replies.

Hi I have a 2013 genesis coupe 3.8 gt and my Bluetooth audio has worked fine for the past 3 years but it suddenly decided not to stream audio it connects and I can make and answer calls but Bluetooth audio doesn't work now it says no media connected but on my phone it says Bluetooth audio is connected.
