  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When i first got my car i was able to hear my phone ring through the car stereo. I actually heard my downloaded ring tone through the stereo. Now all that happens when i get a phone call is my music goes silent and i see an incomming call on the navi screen. no volume on the ringer. How do i turn the ringer back on or is this a service department issue?

One of two things.

1. Probably because your ringer volume is too low. The fix is to turn the volume knob (same knob as radio volume) up while your screen shows you have an incoming call. Test it with someone elses cell phone calling you.

2. Question. When you get these incoming calls, (2a) do you have to push the DIS knob down to receive the call, or (2b) is it a case where the incoming call person starts talking with you and you never heard the phone ring? If it is 2a, follow instruction in 1 above. If it is 2b, then your cell phone is set to auto answer and you have to reset your cell phone to auto answer OFF. 2b is what happened to me when I first got my bluetooth phone. Took a while to figure it out.

Say I have the other problem. I think the stock ring tone is annoyingly loud. I'll try turning the volume down while someone calls me. But how does one get their ring tone into the car instead of the car's stock ring? Or is that a phone/bluetooth setting?

Thanks -

I dont know what I did but it changed to my ring tone the second or third time I got a call. The first time was a loud LOUD ring that scared the poo out of me. Nasty ring. All is good now as the ringtone comes over the radio and the volume of the radio is cut.

I think it changed after a few connections.

My ring tone is the opening of "Dead Man's Curve", and the first time the phone rang the trumpets damn near blew me out of my seat.
