  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a 2011, 3.8 Grand Touring Genesis Coupe. I am trying to setup my phone with the Blue tooth hands free, voice activated feature. My problem is that I can not get the "Phone book" function, which is shown in the "Menu Tree" example in the owner's manual, to work. (ref. owner's manual page 4-121) I am trying to add entries by voice being that the system did not recognize my phone's phone book / contacts when it was initially set up. When I say "phone book" it goes to "phone help".

I had it to the dealer and we both are convinced that it is a software problem. Has anyone else had the same problem or have any idea as to the cause? All other voice commands appear to be working just fine.

Other then this issue I am very satisfied with my Genesis Coupe and look forward to putting on many miles.

I have the same problem, and dont no what to do any help out there

Is your phone paired with the car? If the phone is not paired the phone book is not available. When not paired you can see the phone book on the right side of the screen but it is dim and you cannot select it. Once your phone is paired with the car the words should brighten like the other commands you can select.

If you have tried pairing your phone a few times and it still does not work. Try turning your phone off, completely power down so it must re-boot at start-up. Turn the phone on and once it's up try pairing it with the car.

Thanks for the post.

Since my first post; I have two phones "paired" to the system. One shows an address book / contacts and the other does not. After many hours of investigation I heard from Hyundai that not all phones work on the system! And to make matters worst there is no listing of which work and which do not.

To find which phones work you need to go to the official Hyundai website and on to the owners section. Once logged in the far right hand tab is "bluetooth". From a series of drop down menus you select your car, cell phone carrier and phone (if it's listed) and they tell you if it's one of the verified working ones. It seems to be a very short list of phones that they have verified. My cell phone is not on the OK list which I pretty much figured out since whether or not it pairs with the car changes every time the weather does.

Thanks again for the reply.

You are right the list is extremely limited; thus it is of little help!
