  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Picking up the fastest color tomorrow

The blue pills work pretty fast too. :D

Empire State gray pills are the fastest

this thread is hilarious..

I'll imagine that the OP will finally post pix, which the other users will promptly Photoshop to match their versions of the "Fastest Color"! :D

Yes I will post pix, just got home, oof, the drive back from houston was, well, it's the drive back from houston on a friday, so I have spent about 5-6hrs driving today, and the car is everything I thought it would be. It's starting to rain, but I will see if I can stage a decent shot tonight. Good god, everything about his car is awesome and averaged (according to the pooter) 29mpg, much of it spent at about 80mph. Nice. My Volvo MIGHT have gotten 17-18 at best.

Humble Hyundai in Houston and Brett Roe, cannot recommend them highly enough, zero funny business. If you are able to get on down to the H-Town, that's where you need to go. Walked out for $47,917 I think I did pretty good.

$48K for a V6??? I hope you are kidding... An Ultimate '15 V6 should be $38K before taxes right now...

It's a 2016 V6 AWD Ultimate in Montecito/Ivory, so for my market, this was a very good price actually. Had I purchased it in Austin it would have been 2 grand more, easy. Additionally, they stopped making Montecito, so this was literally one of THREE left in the entire country, no more in this combo will be coming in. The other 2 in NH and NY are actually at dealerships that are part of the group I purchased from. Slap that on top of the fact that Monte had the second lowest production in AWD (for the US market, it was a very popular color in CA apparently), it really is a unicorn.

Quick shot next to the project Volvo...

Not sure if this is the "fastest" color...rare indeed. Congrats man!

Congratulations on the new car - there are a few nice Geneses (Genesii?) in Austin, but I haven't seen a Montecito yet (only one on a dealer lot). Ivory looks awesome, I get a lot of compliments on mine, including envious looks from a friend who owns a nice S5. Quite a few white and grey Geneses around here, haven't seen another Ibiza on the road yet either. H-town sucks, traffic from H-town to Austin sucks too, but you should have been able to try out the gizmos (ACC is the best) on the way home, so it was probably more fun than any other drive from what my old boss called "the armpit of Texas" to Austin ever.

Welcome to the fold, there are a few Austin Genesis owners here on the forum already! We should have a lunch get together sometime with everyone.

Obviously my favorite combo IMHO is (yes I am bias) Monteceito blue/Ivory is the Genesis color of choice. I was the combo used when the car was first shown to the public because they (Hyundai) considered it the most appealing. ;) You are going to love this car, simply fantastic in all respects. Do make sure they installed the 9.5 version of the map software which is the latest and greatest and apparently has solved the voice recognition issue most seem to be having.

Actually, the centerpiece at the NA launch was a Parisian Gray/Ivory 5.0. The Montecito Blue 3.8 was in the background. Cars roll out at 16:00 minutes in:

Austin, yeah, I already had the envious look thing today, i put it through the local touchless to get the Houston bugs off and a guy washing a newish merc coupe and another guy washing a 535d both took great pains to try to check me out without looking like they were checking me out, I was literally loling, the guy with the bimmer kept turning around like he was wringing out a sponge or something but was obviously looking specifically at my car....sorry fella, did you pay twice what I did? yep, prolly. And I'm down for lunch or some such thing at some point.

As far as the Nav, they couldn't find the SD, so they are ordering it and fedexing it to me, but absolutely assured me it will be 9.5 and if for some reason it isn't they will find it at no charge, so that's good I spose, i can go a little while without ALL the bells and whistles.

I love this car. I am so happy with it in every way, and for someone who is 6'4", the power leg bolster and the overall massive amount of room is like nothing I've ever experienced. If you aren't tall and have had to deal with a world not make for people over 6', it can be hard to describe the joy at such a roomy cockpit with such terrific support.

I think it's time for a Austin Genesis meet!

The Nav SD card is normally in the bag with the manuals. Check there just in case they didn't as I have found Hyundai dealers to be somewhat clueless.

So much for "da fastest" color.... Hyundai is making a good decision by discontinue it, me think, because it never was fastest color...nice color but not fast enough to keep it. :D

Congrats on your new car, it is beautiful! color :)

Can someone verify where the "Montecito Blue is to be discontinued" info is coming from?
It appears to be active on the Hyundai website.

I had been told that by a few dealers, but in my search to nail one down I found a link to a Hyundai America doc that had a footnote at the end of the last page stating Montecito was discontinued a/o Aug 15, my DoM was 7/11/15

I'll see if I can find the doc for you

well, I couldn't find the pdf I looked at, there were 29 pages of chrome history prior to finding the car in houston. I did att a link to the current brochure where you will find Marakesh Beige and Montecito are missing. Now when I say I got one of the last three, what I am specifically referring to is a 2016 Monte/Ivory/Ultimate AWD, there are lots of Montecitos in varying layouts still on the market, BUT that color stopped being mfr'd in aug of last year, so no more new ones are coming, whats already here is it (for the US market, the doc I saw was Hyundai America, not Canada, and the two entities do things VERY differently).

edit - see page 17

Definitely time for an Austin get together......
