  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just picked up my V6 w/ Tech last night and didn't notice it last night but the black on black has a pinstripe down the side with a flying H near the rearview mirror. I didn't notice this on any other colors. Did the dealer add this?

How do I remove it?

Yes! Did you pay for it as a dealer add on?

Depends if it's paint or tape. Others on here can advise best way to peel the tape.

I didn't pay for it, but it looks like tape no paint. I'll peal it off since a Genesis logo and caps with the H and stripe looks funny.

I have experienced both tape and tape adhesive being left on during dealer prep. Let the dealer look at it. You don't want the responsibility.

Re: removing pinstriping??

Yea but it has the flying H near the front and I have removed all the other flying H logos and replaced them with Genesis winged logos.

Ok...but for me personally, I'm not concerned if people 'think' I'm driving a Hyundai....if they don't recognize the car (which no one has, to date), I'll tell them. The 'flying H' logos confirm it. Confirmation to someone who asks, to me, indicates an assertion of value.

I do like the Gen winged logos, but probably won't bother with the changes...it's just not important to me.

Thanks--

Dan

Some dealers install pinstripe as a "value-added" option package to add to the sell-price...

That's how I ended up with mine...it was part of the add-on package...that I didn't pay for (negotiated it out of the deal). That answers another question for me...I'd wondered if the pinstriping was done actually by the selling dealer, or if it came from the factory that way.

Now we know!

Mine came with a pinstripe (no H). I didn't even notice it until one of the guys at the Genesis drive event in Miami asked me about it. I assume the dealer added it. There was never any discussion of it when I purchased it. I'm leaving it. I never thought of removing it. I'm pretty sure it is tape.

Congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis, aktiveradio!

I moved this into the detailing area to keep things organized... Please be sure to post in the proper forum (review all forums before deciding where to post) and please only create one discussion per topic (I merged your other topic on removing pinstriping into this one).

Thank you...

Dealer took it off today, took about 15 min. I like it better without.

Does anyone have any pictures of some pin stripping for the Coupe. I initially wanted a black car but wound up settling for a silver one. Way too much silver so I was thinking about powder coating the rims black, purchasing black rims or simply putting on some type of pinstripping on the side of the car to help with contrast. Any ideas?

hi guys,
i had a pinstripe: gold on a white car; didn't look bad, actually, but it was flaking off in the first few days of owning the car (cheap product, bad job); eventually had it removed by detail shop, when the car got a GREAT wax job; looks SO MUCH BETTER!
also, had the windows tinted (max for front & rear), and did the badge switch: it's a great looking car!
now i'm looking to perhaps exchange the door strips for chrome, and/or change the lower grille... suggestions?
