  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is "to do" and "not to do" with the dealership.
I have the 2015 RWD tech package ( which I love but I should have gone to the ultimate. )and planning for the ultimate AWD 2016 . 😀

If you trade in you will likely take a pretty big hit. You might want to wait until this summer, from what I understand the Genesis will be refreshed as the 2017 G80. You should wait to see what the refresh brings and if you still want a 2016 they will be heavily discounted at that time. The 2016 looks to be a short model year so be cautious in paying too much to get a '16 now only to have the '17 come out in a couple months.

Thanks for the reply.

If your goal is to get Ultimate features, which is the only real difference, you will be playing a huge cost for very small changes. I would reevaluate what those features are worth.

Thanks for all the output. Now , I am going to reevaluate and see.

I'm considering upgrading to but I'm waiting to see 2017 G80 refreshed, plus they might bring that v6 twin turbo engine from the G90. Your best bet is to wait

I certainly wouldn’t be trading in my 2015 for anything as silly as LED lights but in 2017 with the prospect of a Twin Turbo and maybe the much talked about 10 speed auto those might just be the motivating factors that do it.

I doubt OP is mainly referring to the led, he might want all the other goodies that come with ultimate. I always wish i could have(ultimates) real wood installed in the dash.

Point is I have one now. And I am so pleased with it that only the changes mentioned would merit a consideration.

Agreed, I'm in the same boat, I can't imagine paying extra for minimal year 2 improvements but once the G80 is out then it's going to be a different story. Glad I leased!

I did notice OP is planning to go from RWD to AWD so that may add more color to the picture.

Thanks for noticing!:D

only main difference is the led DRL strip and foglights led.

u can always drive on parking light mode to have the drl on..

and u can always buy the foglamps on ebay.

but u can tell hyundai obsessed over this car and they are making mininal profits vs mercedes and bmw who are laughing all the way to the bank.

this is lexus grade build quality

HUD now has a new rotation adjustment too (to adjust/correct "horizon" angle) :)

Parking lights are really dim in daylight - the LED DRL'S are MUCH brighter:

Yes - can be installed the same as the factory setup.

Of course, none of this is enough to justify taking a hit on dumping a 2015 for a 2016 (unless money is no object!).

Hey, quite rubbing it in for us lowly 2015 owners

;)

I just stumbled on the HUD rotation adjustment while going through the menus and had to go back and check the 2015 manual to see if I was imagining it was new - it is. I always thought my 2015 HUD was a little off level - but was not sure if it was an optical illusion due to the hood not being parallel to the horizon under the HUD area - but now you can tweak it a little clockwise or counterclockwise to get it where you like it. Nice little touch (must have got some complaints?).

Been thinking about moving up to a V8. Just waiting a little bit.

I only hope Hyundai has the good sense to price the G80 where it is still a good value. I'm concerned they are going to jack the prices up way too high. That twin turbo won't be cheap. I personally don't believe the Genesis is on a par with Lexus yet. They need to be careful when they price the new G80.
