If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hi, I want to buy a leather key fob case for my soon to arrive Genesis 2015 3.8L Sedan here in the UK.
I like the one shown in the attachment. Anyone know a good source? All I can find are Korea companies that take a long time to deliver and pretty expensive.

I'm also trying to track down a supplier for a trunk liner tray. Can you believe there are no accessories listed by Hyundai here in the UK.

Thanks for any help.
Nick

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Looks like a case for the Smart Key card. Does the 3.8 in the UK come with the smart key card as well as the regular FOBs?

Looks cool. I havent seen it before. Your probaly stuck with having to import it via ebay.

Yes, is for the smart key card only (about size of a credit card).

I assume you checked eBay? Most of that stuff comes from Korea. As far as trunk liners, go to your dealer parts department first before assuming they don't have one. Otherwise, your best bet may be Canada for someone in the UK.

Having a leather case for the Smart Key Card defeats the whole purpose of it (small enough to fit in wallet like a credit card). The Smart Key Cards are notorious for short battery life, and seem like more of a gimmick to me.

Getting a leather case for the regular key fob makes more sense (although having had a key fob for 7 years, I would not ever get a leather case myself).

Thanks daviderle for the links.

These cases are actually for the fob and not a card. Looking at

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYUNDAI-B...1590673416?clk_rvr_id=955012822183&rmvSB=true

shows several views. The case has depth for the fob and a window for access to the buttons.

In an older car, the fob was 'stored' on the key in the ignition. I now have a fob that needs to be put somewhere, and I just thought it would get scratched/ scratch the car without a softer leather layer.

On the earlier Genesis 2009-2011 (not sure the end date) there was a place on the dash to put the fob. But that is ONLY if the battery is too weak for it to work from your pocket. I have NEVER used the fob slot on my 2009 Genesis.

I keep my fob on my key chain with other keys, and in my pocket when entering the car, driving, or locking it (using the push button on the door handle). My 7 year old fob looks to be in perfect condition with no scratches. Having a leather case on the fob would just make it that much more bulky and more noticeable in my pocket.

I would try without the leather case and see how you like it. You can always get the leather case if later.

I got a silicone case after having the fob slide out of my pocket while sitting on a couch at a friend's house. Caused a few moments of panic when my new car would not start! If that happened when I was out and about it would have been hard to track down and expensive to replace...

I figure the silicone will keep it from sliding so easily. I only have the fob to carry, I have eliminated keys altogether with a combination house lock. :-)

Good choice, I had a fancy leather one on my Gen1 and ended up replacing it with a silicone one like you just bought. The leather makes it bulky and the buttons were difficult to use. Also tried a flip out leather but again it was nice but inconvenient. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Cow-Leather-...t-Fit-Hyundai-Genesis-2009-2013-/111057601099 I was fortunate enough the Canadian Genesis V8 ultimate came with the credit card fob which I keep in my wallet. This has got to be one of the best conveniences of the car, simply love it.

I think most of us, except gals, put the fobs in our pockets. A leather case just increases the bulk. Who needs that?

Welcome aboard, it will be fun having a Limey in the group. Where are you located?

Thank you for the welcome. I hail from Mansfield, East Midlands in LimeyLand:)

I seem to remember reading that Hyundai is only selling 60 new Genesis in the UK. I wonder how many new Genesis will sell in the US of A?
And I bet I'm the only Limey here. I found the Sonata forum (present car, I collect the Genesis on the 30th) a very lonely place :)

Just had a mad thought. I wonder if the chip could be implanted just under the skin. That would be very convenient.

Look's like your new car will come with the H emblem on the boot lid, as in North America. Will you be replacing that for a wing badge? You can buy that here from the webmaster. Good luck with your delivery and be sure to test drive it and examine it thoroughly before you leave the car lot. I imagine you own a petrol station, given prices there? :)

It looks like the USA Genesis line will sell about 30,000 cars in 2015.
This includes sedans and 2 doors....... could not find a break down showing just sedans

Interesting. Shows some of the big differences between the UK and the USA.

I would like to change the emblem. I'll think about it when I get the car. Changing looks simple enough, but I'm not that keen to 'mess about' with a new car. You have to heat the glue and I'm worried it may harm the paint.
I have already test driven it and all seems well. I'll have a good look, but I find dealers here are very careful these days.
Fortunately petrol has dropped about $1.33 cents an imp gallon over the last few months to about $6,65, so fuel bill should be what I'm used to for my 3.3L 2006 Sonata (owned from new for 9 years and has been a totally reliable pleasure to drive).
