  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No safety locks were ever placed on my back doors. I know how to do it, but I never did it. The behind my driver seat will not unlock at all. Does any one has any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Resetting the electronics may resolve this. There is a particular fuse to pull (Google for it), or you can disconnect the battery briefly. If that doesn't work, then the latch assembly on that door is defective or there is a wiring problem.

This happened to me once on my 2013 3.8 Sedan — and to the exact same door you mention (rear passenger behind driver). Like you, I checked the safety switch — which wasn't the cause. Interestingly, what seemed to work in my case was starting the car—then shutting it off and locking it using the key fob.

A few minutes later, I used the key fob to unlock all the doors (two pushes)—and voila! It worked again and has ever since.

It's worth noting that I first tried the above method using the door buttons (only) and it didn't work… But using the key fob did. No idea why, but now both the door and key fob work perfectly well (though now I've probably jinxed it).

Though from what I've learned reading posts, what works for one doesn't always work for others. Part of the charm—or curse—of technology. Best of luck!

Welcome! Just letting you know that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the second generation Genesis Sedan forum...
