  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone,

So I have moved from a Genesis Coupe 3.8 track edition as shown below, to a Genesis Sedan 3.8 in Black.... oh and did I mention I love the new car!!

So Our new family of cars is my Genesis Sedan and my wife's Sonata Ltd.

Now my next point is, I have some issues with modifying my cars as seen in the pics above and would love to do some subtle changes to this one, however, trying to find anything for our cars (especially the 3.8) seems to be few and far between.

If anyone has a few pointers please feel free to post. I have found that Extreme Dimensions does do a kit for us, however, since looking there the other day, the front lip seems to have disappeared.... leaving only the side and rear body parts. To be honest I'm not too sure how good the rear would look with the standard OEM exhaust.

Are there any aftermarket parts worth the money? I did purchase the wings for the front and rear and the steering wheel badge along with the wheel badges. I also upgraded the interior dome lighting to have the blue mood lighting as well (it looks great, but I'm 50/50 on it's actual functionality. You lose the dome lights turning on when you open the door..... or I have yet to figure out to get them to work without physically turning them on individually)

I was wondering if there was an exhaust, CAI etc for the 3.8? I see some people have bagged their ride and changed out their wheels (Rims).

Look forward to hearing from you all.

thanks

Elmo

Enjoy the new car, Elmo. Mood lighting is only for those who can't afford a room.

I love the car! Actually the mood lighting is really nice for night time driving. I suppose it would have those benefits..... certainly enough space in the gen!

You made me laugh out loud with this one.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Dude, is that the Vega? That's one of my all-time favorite aftermarket kits EVER.

Beautiful car. Congrats!

(sorry I can't really help out with your question)

Yes,it had the Vega front end with custom DRLs, M&S Sideliner sides and a Xzion Rear diffuser. Loved the car but had to sell due to family situation.... but I am more than happy with my new choice. I just wish there was more cosmetic things out there to do to the sedan.

Elmo, suggest you consider the "chrome" side trim and the mud guards. They have really beautified my 3.8 wagon.

I have the Mud guards, but the black sides, however, I'm not sure if I am ready to spend money on things I already have just yet though.

Oh I didn't realize you traded FROM the Coupe. Gotcha.

Honestly, there isn't much you can do aesthetically to the exterior of this sedan. With the impending update coming next year, it may not even be worth it if there's even a remote possibility of you trading up. However, you can do a couple of minor things to it, like upgrading your wheels (which I assume you'll do ANYWAY), adding the chrome door inserts, rebadging (which again, based on your coupe I figured you'd be all over)...

Others have blacked out their roof, tinted their windows AND headlights/taillights, minor things like that.

If you want to go a little more extreme, you can get the lowering kits I've seen around, and VIP your Genny. Most of us like the classy look though.

Depending on what color your new sedan is, you could also wrap the interior bits like you did with your coupe! Like this guy:

if your looking for a body kit I would contact vipdout.com I know they are working with a Korean Company. Shoot them an email.

thanks, I could only see the wood trays on their site, however, I will drop them an email to see if they also do body kits. I have only found "extreme dimensions" so far that actually does some sort of body kit.... however, they seem to have dropped the front lip from their product line.

Hey Elmo, a korean company called Garcia Factory provides body kits for the Genesis....might be a bit expensive since its coming from korea too....shoot them an email :)

yeah VIPDOUT is working with Garcia Factory being the importer for this KIT... turst me i've been talking to him about this.

Sega Gen..... what have you found out so far? I'm still unsure about the front lip.... It's so hard to make a purchase without seeing it in person!

Elmo i posted it here the picture. This is it :) that's what you get exactly what you see here especially the front lip. I believe you get sides and back rear aswell :)

I want to do it eventually but where I like here in K-town...unless i get airbags with it i'm gonna probably destroy my car with these bloody pot holes everywhere lol
