  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hopefully there will be other minor improvements but a better ride is the most hoped for change. Harsh ride on rough roads and over bumps is the deal breaker for most.

with the suspension not such a problem for me, and the fact that an 8 speed will cause quicker shift in lower gears, causing slower jack rabbit starts and less stealth like performance

I know i know, "but gas mileage will be better"

but if you buy a car like the Genesis, you arent worrying about gas mileage

Where did you get information that there will be an 8-speed tranny on the 2010?

8-speed tranny may be in future years, but haven't heard about for 2010.

There are rumors that the following will be avaialble as options:

- Lane change warning system.
- Active cruise control (adjust speed based on traffic ahead).

I didn't vote but I have the 4.6 2009 Genesis. If the suspension gets an acceptable improvement I'll stick with it. If not and if the 2010 4.6 Genesis gets an updated suspension that has better control and smoother ride over rough roads after I test drive a few then I will be getting the 2010 Genesis. And maybe even this time Hyundai can make the color combination that I wanted available.

Yeah I know depreciation of my 2009 Genesis........but I consider the ride to be that important to me. IMO it is about the only area that the car has dissapointed me. I don't want to feel like I need to take my other car when traveling rough roads just to make the trip more comfortable. I don't want to hear my passengers complain about the ride when they think everything else about the car is awesome until we start moving down the road.
And if I should gain a little body lean in trading for a smoother ride so be it! I don't know about most people but I'm driving straight down the road about 99% of the time and probably making quick sharp turns about 1% of the time.
The media seems to care more about slaloms, body lean, and race course times no matter what kind of cars that they test. If I was really into that............and at times I am.......I'd get a corvette or something. As long as the safety isn't compromised of course would be another matter to.

No vote from me. I do like some of the things mentioned here as enhancements. I had the lane departure warning (LDW) system and the intelligent cruise control (ICC) in the M35 I owned. Loved the ICC, but could have done without the LDW. Most times I turned off the LDW.

I still have the same question I had when I first saw some of these potential updates/upgrades months ago. . . . . . .Will Hyundai actually make that many changes to a car that only has been offered in the US market for one year? I guess we will see in about 5 to 6 months.
