  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So, I've been having an interesting e-mail exchange with Paul of Diode Dynamics today about the Genesis lanyards that he's offering for sale. I received the two pieces I ordered (very promptly, I might add), but was dismayed to find that the fabric loop is "twisted", such that the Genesis name and logo are on the "inside" of the half the loop.

Convinced that his supplier screwed up, I sent a short note to Paul, suggesting that he inspect his inventory and notify his vendor of a process error. Paul responded immediately, and to my surprise, he informed me that the "twist" is intentional. In his words, "the twist in the design allows you to put it around your neck and have the printing visible on the front side."

WTF? I tried both of them on, and while I'll concede that the Genesis name/logo was occasionally visible on both "ends", more often than not I would see the printing on just one side, and the other side was blank (the unprinted side faced upwards).

Not only do I disagree that this "twist" increases the visibility of the printing, but I also find that the twist is, if anything, uncomfortable, especially when I'm wearing a collarless shirt. Fortunately, my wife is a great seamstress, so I'll just have her cut and re-sew both lanyards, and voila...another happy DD customer!

So, to everyone that's bought a lanyard from Diode Dynamics, here's your chance to settle this (good natured) dispute between Paul and me. To paraphrase Howie Mandel...TWIST or NO TWIST?

I'm not sure how many buyers are on this site, since most people do not fill out that part of their registration on my site, but I'm excited to see the response! All in good fun, right? :)

I'll snap a pic of myself modeling one so you can see ;)

hmmmm sounds interesting! I have to wear a badge all day everyday and I would love to have one but I need to see that PICTURE before I make a purchase!

Here's those pics I promised!

I am not manipulating it between the pictures, I'm just wearing it how it's supposed to be worn. As you can see, this is with the "twist," and it's readable on the back of the neck and in the front on both sides, and is comfortable. All lanyards are designed in this fashion.
