  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently purchased a 2026 GV70. On a couple of occasions, in "Comfort" mode at low speeds, the acceleration hesitates. I have to depress the accelerator about half way down and then the engine jerks and accelerates. If it continues I will bring car in to have it checked.
Update on 10/3/25: Brought car in to Genesis dealer where purchased. It's been there almost 2 weeks with no definitive diagnosis. Very frustrating!
Wondering what my options will be if not fixed very soon. "Lemon Law" ???
Purchased only 3 months ago, with 4K miles on it.

Returned the car to me claiming it was repaired.
Driving the car home, problem was still there within 15 minutes!
Will bring to a different Genesis Service Center.

I just had the same problem on my 2024 gv70 15,000 klms. Started my car this morning and very rough idle. Drove off but wouldn’t accelerate. Would only do 30 Kohl’s and maybe 3,000 rpm. Had to park it. Got an appointment for Tuesday I’ll get them to row it in.

Got home 3 hours later tried the gv70 started up and drove normal? I have an appointment Tuesday for unrelated isue, a recall: sofrware update? I report the issue we shall see.

Experienced the same with my '22 GV70. Turned out to be the low pressure fuel pump in the fuel tank. Dealer repaired. No issues since.

had the same trouble of no throttle response at initial step down and then all of a sudden rpm would go to 4000 rpm and trans would sound like it down shifts I would have to get out of the pedal so engine would not overspeed, has been to 2 different dealers and told nothing wrong. HELLO !!!!!!!!! there is definitely something wrong the thing can't be driven without playing with the gas pedal .This is a 2006 with 2000 miles on it. HELP

Has anybody figured out a guaranteed way to duplicate this behavior? I am taking my car in for maintenance in a month or so and I thought I'd report it to them. It seems like it should be a recall issue for sure due to the safety concerns. It has happened exactly twice to me this year. I fix it by using the paddle shifter to upshift.

just got my 2026 gv70 back from the shop and they fixed the hesitation problem by replacing the coolant pump.I don't know what that pump has to do with it bit the suv now runs perfect

Thanks, my question was about how to duplicate the problem so that my dealership can see it, otherwise it's just a transient problem that will be difficult to repair unless witnessed. From reading the thread, it appears that there have been several solutions that seem to fix it which also makes me wonder if everyone is talking about the same issue or a different one.

I’m very been battling the same issue with my g70…been to the dealership at least 5 times in the past 2 years. Is there a way we can mobilize to have Genesis take this seriously? Do I have to take this to social media or something? Genesis aka Hyundai absolutely knows there’s a problem they just don’t care to fix it.

My 22 GV70 SP has done it 5 times this year. The first 4 times, they told me nothing wrong (In other words, they couldn't figure it out). When I picked up my vehicle after the 4th episode (Saturday, Dec. 13th), it happened again on the way home, so I called them as I tried to limp home and told them I was returning to the dealership. On my way back, they called me and told me not to shut my vehicle off so they could check for codes. Well, it did show a code, and now it's in the shop getting something replaced. When I get it back, I'll reply here with the code # and what they replaced.

Great! From my experience, describing this is a "loss of acceleration" problem isn't entirely accurate. What happens in my case is I get stuck in a low gear and the transmission will not up shift unless I do so manually.

I'm experiencing the same, loss of power. Very random, but persisted back and forth on a 350 mile Chrstmas trip. Car is GV70 2022 with v6 and 78000 miles. Got a P2B5900 code which is part of the coolant system. This seemed bogus at first (to me!), except I learned it could be shutting off the turbos which would give the same symptoms. Car in the shop now, waiting for a new ITM replacement. $1600. I dont see why it isn't covered under the 100K engine warranty, so I am going to press that. Anyone else have to pay for this?

I had the same exact problem and after several trips, the code you posted is what came up and they replaced the part and it hasn’t acted up since, but that’s only been a couple of weeks
