  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am getting 210 miles for the full tank ~17 gallons which puts the mileage at around 12.5. I used to get 250-260 miles on a full tank of gas in the past year.

Mostly city driving on roads of 40-50 mph limit
No use of sports mode. All driving in normal mode
I put in 87 octane gas
Tires are inflated to correct pressure all the times
Put in new engine oil filter and changed oil recently

Not sure about Southern California but in Vancouver, we get a winter blend fuel that isn't as energy dense. That and the heated seats/steering wheel being on don't help. I get about 20% less mileage in the winter per tank.

Thank you SuperKing. Would appreciate pointers from SoCal people here? Do I need to take the car to dealer but not sure what to tell them as nothing seems to be broken but something is inefficient that is causing the mileage to be this low.

Replace Air filter(s)? You wouldn't believe how bad your mpg gets if those are clogged/dirty...

Tough call. If you get winter blend like we did in New England, that would be about normal. How old is the air filter? That can make a difference. Did anything change in your usual commute? Teenage son borrow the car?

If you go to the dealer, be prepared to pay a diagnostic charge if they find nothing covered by warranty.
