Does anyone know how to remove the interior carpets? Do you just pull up on the carpet until it pops out of the plug? I can't find an answer in the manual.

Yes, you just pull on it. You're not going to damage anything.

Of course, the directions are under the mat.

JW is correct, put your thumb on the center dot/post, and pull up with your fingers supporting the edge of the grommet. To re-install:
