  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Poor quality of Hyundai dealerships

Fortunately I've only had to get the dealer involved once. I had a 2007 Azera and the service dept. lost my file. Since then I have bought a 2011 Genesis 4.6. from the same dealer who is also a Lincoln- Dodge dealer on the same site. He is building a separate Hyundai show room to carry Equus. Maybe these guys will get better with time?

The reference to McDonalds is a good one but in an entirely different way. When I eat at McDonalds I don't get valet parking, a chat with the headwaiter for preferential seating, china and silver flatware or even table service nor do I expect it. But I am not spending fifty or seventy-five dollars a head for dinner either. I don't expect anything more than competent service from my Hyundai dealer. For fancy coffee and a serene waiting environment I will go to the Starbucks section at Barnes and Noble.

My dealer is great to deal with. The only thing is everything has to be done two to three times to get it right. The buyer of a Genesis has different expectations of quality. An example is I had several pieces of dirt in the hood. when I got it back the first time you could see where it was sanded out. I took it back a 2nd time and had them sand with 2000 grit and polish out. I still have to take it back or one more spot with sand scratches in it taken care of. This was bad enought it should have been taken care of in the factory . I work at Honda's Marysville plant and this would have never left there factory.
