  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I dropped of my car at the dealer Tuesday evening ahead of a Wednesday appointment to do some warranty work (noisy air condition fan & broken glove box lock). I was told by the CSR that they would do a multipoint inspection costing $162, After 48 hrs I received a call from the CSR, telling me the glove box would cost $900+ to replace and they could not duplicate the air condition fan noise and list of recommendations with price via email (2 tire $753, brake system flush $256, etc. I reminded her that the car was there to do my two request nothing else and I have a Platinum WRAP Warranty and the glove box replacement is covered, due to a previous phone conversation with the warranty department. She then told me she will have to call the the warranty department to verify. I told her to not to worry about the other recommendations. 24 hrs later no callback. Called the service department Saturday morning to check status and got CSR voicemail, I left a message stating I am coming to pick up my car. Two hour later no callback, I called dealer again, got voicemail, called back dealer and spoke to a human, I explained I was coming to get my car, she told me she would let the CSR know. Went to pick up my car, had a few choice word for the CSR, about "no communications" problems.
A few days later I dropped off my car at my local mechanic to do a 90K maintenance service and was told by the mechanic I have a major oil leak to the rear of the car because the undercarriage and control arm was soak with oil, but he didn't figure out yet where the oil was coming from because he checked the differential and the engine and didn't find a leak.
Can anyone here suggest where else in a 2015 Genesis sedan could the oil be coming from ?

Sounds fishy. The dealer $162 multi point inspection should have identified the oil leak or at least the oil soaked under panel. And since (if) the glove compartment is covered under warranty you should not have to pay the #162 inspection fee.

Even worst, I wasn't charge the $162 for the multi point inspection, and when I ask to speak to the mechanic that did the inspection or a supervisor or manager, I was told none was available. So they had the car from Tuesday evening to Saturday and did nothing, The CSR said she was still waiting to hear back from the warranty department.

Today I will hear back from the mechanic what is the source of the leaked oil.
