  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

At SEMA Hyundai announced the availability, commencing in December, of "crate motors".
In particular they will offer a 3.8 V6 with 348hp and 295 ft. lb. torque @$9K each. This is up from the '13 model's 333hp. I think it is likely that this 348hp motor will be the 3.8 offering in the 2015 Genesis. The reason I write this is historically Hyundai likes to offer a single motor in each class to wit: when the 5.0 was introduced the 4.6 was phased out. Also, Hyundai almost always increases hp in new models.
Incidentally, no announcement to date of a 5.0 crate motor.

I believe those "Crate motors" were for the Genesis Coupe, which has historically had a little more HP than the Sedan on V6. You might want to check the current Soupe V6 HP to see what it is. Also, I thought the Crate Motors include a turbo that had more HP than the regular Genesis Coupe motors.
