  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

possible issues with high mileage 2015 Ultimate

That's terrible. The dealership I'm working w said they'd repair it before purchase so I really hope that issue doesn't reoccur
I never open my roof anymore. I greased the tracks with Krytox 205 and that was it.

My first generation 2015 3.8 AWD went from being the crown jewel in year 1-2 to now being a near total turd. So many issues crept up year after year that I'd love to dump it if used prices weren't so outrageous.

Issues: Pano roof no longer opens (known issue), front and back bumper clearcoat peeling (known issue), seat lumbar support died, black door pillars are fading, AC can't keep up well in the heat when at idle. Climate control has issues blowing out of proper vents, automatic wipers suck, auto lights don't come on when needed, worst of all is their use of cheap $2 amber turn bulbs that burn out CONSTANTLY and installing passenger side blinker bulb is beyond a PITA.

So for me, buying a 2015 first gen Genesis is a BAD bet to take on.
WOW. The only issues that I have had with my 2015 5.0 Ultimate so far has been a bad alternator at 90k miles and a faulty trunk mounted taillight wiring harness about 76k miles.

I never really fully open the sunroof often(if ever), but I do open it to vent and it works fine so far.

The best way to handle the turn signal bulb burnout issue is to use 1157NALL bulbs. Regular 1157NA(or 1157) bulbs are not going to last long as DRL in our cars. Use the heavy duty"LL" rated bulbs and you should hopefully get about 3-4 years of use out of them; maybe longer if you turn off the DRL.

Halogen bulbs do not last as long as LED DRL, but they are cheaper to replace. Genesis headlights with LED running lights are very expensive(about $900 each) to replace. I will just change the $7 1157NALL bulbs every 3-4 years.:)

The LED running lights will fail and be expensive to replace.

There are a lot of options for the 2015 model. Prices vary. I think I paid $150, which included load resistors and installation.
