  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is good to know folks. I think I will make a stop to the dealer. Maybe mine needs a firmware update or adjustment. If it would not race up to slower cars and jam in the brakes. And adjust to traffic much smoother, it would be a great system.

It may have something to do with the aim of the radar panels in the lower part of the front bumper. Or if the panels are have dirt or wax buildup etc. Just guessing.

They are clear... Thanks for thinking of that. Wish it was that easy.

I have had the cruise go offline when slush and wet snow is on the windshield and kicked up on the lower grill. Which I expect to happen.

Go for the R-Spec and don't look back. I'm not young (by any stretch) but I feel ya' about wanting and awesome sound system with a butt load of power on demand. The 2013 will have a MUCH better ride if you can find one and afford the difference in price. However, I don't think you'll be disappointed in a 2012.
2012 and 2013 R-Spec both have the same suspension, which was upgraded in 2012 for all trim levels (but 2012 was first year for R-Spec). However, some 2012 R-Specs have experienced excess oil consumption, so your advice to go with a 2013 is a good one.

Your adaptive cruise is flawless? Uhmm, not in my case. Mine is 2012, yours 2011, mine 5.0. So the cruise should be same I would guess.

The 2014 Equus is perfect in my book. Anticipates the cars ahead perfectly. The Genny is a mess. It hammers on the brakes after sexing up to a car in front that is going slower. If a car pulls out in front and is going slower, it hammers the brakes way too hard in attempt to be exact in the space between the car in front and me. It also accelerates hard then slows down hard as the traffic changes speed. It does not "go with the flow".

Does your exhibit any of this? Do others experience the same thing? I believe its attempt at perfection to keep exact distance in one second, not a safe gradual adjustment is most the issue. The 2014 Equus has almost a AI like mind. Also, why the Genny sees the car in front (the display shows it) that is going slower way before the distance selected, yet runs right up to that distance and slams on the brakes is beyond me.

My SCC is very smooth even in heavy traffic. It does not have any of the problems you have with yours. I don't see how it could work much better. There must be a defect in yours.

I forgot about 2012 being the updated suspension, however, the R-Spec does have a stiffer suspension than the 4.6L or even a 2012 5.0 non-R-Spec.

Thanks for the correction..... gosh, and it's only the 7th day of the year and I'm already screwing up!! *sigh*
