  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Possible Tech Package Caller ID Fix

i am sure that there is a good overlap between those who have a genesis and have an iphone. and since the iphone pairing, presumably, works with all other cars, i really hope that hyundai will come up with a solution for the genesis.

unknown caller id sucks in a world where i have been used to caller id for more than a decade!

I'm running iOS 5.0 GM on my iPhone and caller IDs are showing up again, at least for the few people who've called me since I updated the OS. I had to re-upload the address book from my iPhone to the car first.

hoping it would work when i upgrade then.

If I understand correctly, IO5 not available until October 12th. Looking forward to possible fix.

Yes, that's correct - the release is supposed to take place this Wed. Hopefully, this will fix the called ID problem for people with iPhones to update to iOS 5.

Downloaded and installed ios 5 on Iphone 4 and it does appear that incoming calls are now identified. Thanks Waveman

Wow! Great news indeed. It also confirms what Hyundai told me, that IOS 4 "broke" the function. Regardless of blame or responsibility for fixing it, I'm just glad it's done (and confirmed by Tompass).
Thank you!

I'm glad it's working for folks. Interestingly, it was an update to iOS 4 that broke it, so I'm hoping it survives the first iOS 5 update.

I have an iPhone 4S on the way - I'm looking forward to seeing if I'll be able to use Siri in the car over Bluetooth. It would be awesome to be able to make appointments, etc. while driving.

Just gave the IOS 5 upgrade a try, didn't fix the caller ID problem.

iPhone 4, IOS 5, 2011 Equus

Did the following:

Upgraded the iPhone 4 to IOS 5
Deleted all entries in Equus phone book
Re-Downloaded phone book from newly IOS upgraded iPhone

When call comes in:

Caller Name: Blank (no information shows up at all)
Caller Phone Number: Unknown

Both fields populate if I input a contact directly into the car's phone book and get an incoming call. Callier ID does not work for contacts that were imported from the iPhone with IOS 5.

Format of contacts in iPhone 4: (XXX) XXX-XXXX
Format of contacts in Equus Phone book: XXX-XXX-XXXX

Any guidance or ideas here would be greatly appreciated.

Did you first update to Itunes 10.5 before downloading ios 5 and doing the install? I did not delete phone numbers or pairing. Just turned on ignition and phone and it immediately provided caller ID. I would try downloading and reinstalling.

Did upgrade iTunes prior to the IOS 5 update. itunes report version 10.5.0.142.

I'll give the re-install a try and report back.

OK, did a full re-install of IOS 5 on my iPhone 4 and still the same results on incoming calls:

Caller Name: Blank (no information shows up at all)
Caller Phone Number: Unknown

For those who got it working with IOS 5, can you guys tell me what iPhone version (3GS, 4, 4S) you are using?

I'll continue to troubleshoot and post back if I find anything.

Iphone 4 on 3 G Verizon network.

I was using a 3GS... if my 4S ever activates (I'm doing a restore now, which will take quite a while) I'll see how it works.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'm getting the same result (or lack thereof) as jdisles. I think I've tried everything including deleting the pairing, re-pairing and re-downloading the address book. As before the iPhone IOS5 upgrade, everything works as expected except for numbers that are stored in both the phone and the car. Obviously the IOS upgrade wasn't the solution. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks.
