  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Possibly making the switch from AMG to the G70 3.3t Sport RWD?

Congrats on the baby. No regrets with the car...love it.

I’ve got 1,400 miles on it now. Back seat will be fine. Car is plenty fast as well...probably about 0.3 seconds slower than yours.

Where do you live?...and which spec car? I enjoy finding cars for folks 👍
You were always the one I saw regularly posting and providing great insight to others. I remember your name even after all this time away from the forum. I’m curious, what’s your update on the car now that quite some time has passed? Any issues or still love it just as much?

The C63 isn't really a fair comparison to the G70 anyways is it? It's a 4L V8 vs a 3.3L V6. I'm talking current model. It's not a car I've ever considered so I'm not that familiar with it. Looking at pricing to buy one new you would be looking at $93,000 after adding the technology package, heads up display, premium package, nappa leather and intelligent drive package to have the same options as the G70. That's before tax and delivery as well. That's nearly double the cost. You could buy a used one but have to endure the costs of ownership along with that. For that much coin the C63 should out perform the G70 since it is a compact sports sedan at double the cost.

The C43 is really the closest MB in comparison to the G70 and it still comes out around $15,000 more than the G70. There are a few heavily discounted 2018's here and they're still more than a fully loaded G70.

Curious to what the OP ended up getting? There was no mention of it in the thread.
My first reply back was actually to you. Just forgot to hit the reply button in my response. I agree with all your points. Especially now. Not sure it’s worth that extra cash now that I’m in the market again. What I’ve been looking at upon my return are: 2021 or 2022 g70, used C43, or the new IS 350F. As of now I’m leaning G70.

Welcome home soldier! Honestly I love my G70; I have almost 20K miles on it, probably 22 after I drive back home (Texas) from the Commonwealth of Virginia. That being said, some of those other cars are excellent choices as well. You are asking the right questions: cost, performance, maintenance, reliability. But one you didn't mention, is that for better or for worse, none of them will get as many looks as the G70 does :-D.

Haha how’d you know? That’s reassuring to hear you still love it just as much. Haven’t found very many reviews that have been negative relating to those who have owned the car for quite some time. I think I’d push back a little in regards to the looks (my old mercedes got a ton) but I have zero doubts it’s a head turner. Plus, much less common of a vehicle in the U.S. I find myself always looking whenever I see a G70 here and that’s almost every single day!

I got a 2020 Siberian Ice 3.3 Sport RWD about 15 months ago. It’s my favorite car of all time which includes BMW 645ci, Lexus GS 350 F Sport, BMW M5 and BMW M3.
I still own the 645si for weekend convertible rides.
I just had my first child (boy) 3 weeks ago and the rear facing car seat works fine.
My niece and nephew’s feet hit the back when they ride but that’s the same with most cars.

Also I’m told at least once a week by a total stranger that they think my car is one of the best looking cars they’ve ever seen.

That would be the exact one I want. Color and all. Siberian ice is my favorite color choice. I actually remodeled one of my homes before I left back in 2019. Guess what I painted the walls? Haha Siberian Ice! My daughter is growing up (almost 3) so the car seat aspect won’t be as big of a deal anymore but that’s reassuring to hear still.
