I'll be having the stock 19" rims on my 2015 Genesis 5.0 powder coated in gloss black next week. I'll post pictures when completed so others can see if they're interested in what the stock rim looks like in gloss black.

make sure the PC sand blasts them first, there is a clear coat on them. if they don't blast them first the PC won't stick.

I've seen a lot of threads on a lot of car forums from people that PC their wheels only to have it flake off within days because the PC didn't bother to properly prep the wheel and tried to PC over the existing clear.

I am looking forward to seeing how your stock wheels look powdered coated. I heard that powered coated wheels do not look as good as painted wheels, but the finish last longer.

When I spoke to the owner he said he would be sandblasting them first as well as ensuring road rash on the rims was smoothed off/out before PC to a gloss black as requested. Thankfully they're a local reputable company so if there are issues with the powder coat I can reach out to them to fix the issue.

Powder Coating is Complete!! Many thanks to Christian and his team at Platinum Powder Coating of Sarasota, Florida. First pictures are before I installed the Winged Carbon Fiber Wheel Center Caps that I bought from the Genesis store. Last 2 pictures are with the center caps installed.

The wheels look great!!!! I will pull the trigger and have mine powder coated based off how yours came out. I will go with a hyper silver or machined-look finish.

I am kind of hate shiny  but whole car is shiny black ..... so,,,, guess mate finish on the wheels will be not as good as gloss??? hm.... was arguing with myself about plastidip......

I remember I did really weird experiments - used non-gloss spray - couple layers, but did finish it with gloss see through .... was trying to achieve some kind of 3D effect - fiasco, but result was somewhere between gloss and matte...

Those look realllly nice, only thing lacking, painting the calipers would add that touch of color!

Yeah I definitely considered having that done. I liked the thought of either black, yellow, or red calipers. Not sure if I'll have it done though. I think cost to powder coat the calipers is significantly more than the rims due to the labor or removal.

I am getting mine painted and clear coated Sunday morning. Should look very similar but a little darker and glossier. But that powder coat looks incredible man. And it will last longer than mine. I am getting brake calipers neon dark green

As for the calipers had all four of mine painted for $500

I'm a little late to the party, but I love the way they look. I was originally thinking of going with aftermarket wheels, but I actually like the way the stocks look. So I decided to go the same route and have them powder coated hyper black. It sets it off perfectly.

Really like what you did with the grill, the powder coating of the rims are nice ,the only problem I have with them is the fact they tend to give the whole wheel opening a dark hole appearance….
