  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2014 Equus. How do I deactivate the power folding mirrors???
Probably the same on any Genesis/Equus.
Thanks

Isn't there an on/off switch on drivers door for the power mirror and mirror adjustments?

The switch you're referring to simply used to open of close mirrors while car is in motion or stopped. I want to deactivate them from closing when I lock the doors.

Play with the switchs. There is one that stops them. I forget what one but I've done it on three cars so far.

The one you had, had a three way switch - fold, auto, unfold. It looks like his may be different, judging by what a 2014 Genesis sedan had.

A search in an online 2014 Equus owners manual shows the button on the drivers door as having an AUTO setting to fold/unfold the mirrors automatically. A close-up of that switch says AUTO on the right side, and it sounds like it's switchable (Manual/AUTO ???). Check to see if that button is a left-right rocker switch.

For people who still have this question:

pressing the lock on the fob once locks it, pressing it twice folds the mirrors in.
pressing the unlock on the fob once unlocks it (or just driver's door, adjustable in settings), pressing it a second time shortly after unfolds the mirrors.

the button on the driver's door is to fold/unfold the mirrors. i am not aware if it has an 'auto' function on 2014-2016 Equus' but it definitely doesn't on 2013 and previous
