  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Random question: is the speed for the power trunk adjustable? Thanks

Nope. They are set at im guessing safety standard speed.

Is it about the same speed as my kit I installed?

Hi FastEddie

That is a nice trunk opening. Would you mind sharing who makes and sells the kit you have installed?

Seems to be about the same speed as my factory installed trunk opener. Be hard pressed to tell the difference OEM vs DIY.

I got it from a member who never installed it. It was from Shark Racing and they don’t list it any more.

Power trunk

Is there a way to disable the power trunk?

Yes, just manually open and close the trunk.:)

Well, on my 2015 Genesis Ultimate you can just use the trunk release button located above the license plate to manually open the trunk and close it by pushing it down if you do not want to use the power feature. I assume that the G70 has a manual trunk release button as well.

Edit: I stand corrected. The power trunk should not be manually opened or closed by design. So the answer is just plain "NO".

You can but the manual says not to:
CAUTION
• Do not close or open the Power
Trunk manually. This may
cause damage to the Power
Trunk. If it is necessary to close
or open the Power Trunk manually
when the battery is drained
or disconnected, do not apply
excessive force.

Oh my!!!! I did not know that. I usually just use the power trunk feature due to convenience, but I sometimes just manually close it to save the motor. Thanks for the correction.(y)

Crap I better read the owners manual more.

Damn, I didn't know that either. I open it manually lots of times and I thought it pops up. I just never paid attention. I'll have to check into it.
