  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know if there is a kit to add the auto close feature to the trunk, or will become available?

I wonder how difficult it would be to retrofit the 2020 model's trunk close hardware. I usually never consider complex retrofits, but if it was say. $400, I might.

The button will have to go somewhere. Unless you can reprogram the remote to close as well.
The inside button may need reprogramming as well.

I traded a 2017 G90 on a 2019 G70 last year. My wife missed the power trunk open/close feature so I bought a G70 power open/close trunk kit from Shark Racing. It was apparently sourced from Hyundai/Genesis since it shows their logo and part numbers. It’s very comprehensive and includes the required electronic control module, wiring harness, replacement hinges, the power struts, latch mechanism, manual switch, etc. However, I never installed the kit and I’m about to trade the G70 on a 2020 G90 so I have no use for the power trunk kit. I paid $670 (I know, ridiculously expensive). If you have any interest, make me an offer.

Wise decision. As you have found, you can’t ever go wrong with a G90. It has everything.

I bought this from LTH will get it installed and see how well it works. Kit is quite detailed & quality.

We love the power trunk on our 2015 ultimate.

Not for me. I plan on soldering all the connections and I have cloth OEM style tape to make the harnesses look factory.

This is a sample of the instructions. It’s not 100% OEM though but looks quality trunk_g70-1.jpgtrunk_g70-7.jpgtrunk_g70-3.jpg

Ed - Sounds like you’re going to do a “concours restoration“ type installation. Impressive. Glad you are the one who got the kit. It’s obviously found a good home! - Lee

All installed. Some of the instructions weren’t applicable to the US market as the Korean market has the package tray under cover in the trunk and the instructions were to trim the panel but it’s not needed I had to flip the power control rods left and right rotate the ball joints as their driver side is right hand drive and the fuse box and wiring wouldn’t reach since the driver power rod has a sensor wire also. It was easy fix though. All told taking numerous breaks took me about six hours. Button is lighted works with the inside button the outside trunk release handle and the remote control fob as well as the smart truck when I walk up on it

Thanks for the deal LTH
