  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got my first new Genesis and want to start off right. Curious to get opinions and recommendations on an interior cleaner and also what to use for leather seat cleaning/protectant. Thanks in advance!

Chemical Bros for leather cleaning and Swissvax Leather Milk for conditioning. They do what they claim.

I use Meguiar's G13616 Quik Interior Detailer Cleaner (spray bottle) purchased on Amazon. It's not oily and is safe on leather too. Doesn't take too much elbow grease.

I think if over time I start to see that the leather is getting dry or showing signs of discoloration/cracking, there are other products that have a more lotion-like consistency to deal with restoring moisture. I've used some in the past on prior vehicles, but found they just left an oily residue and weren't terribly good.

For the interior carpets, I use The Last Coat's "CeraTex"; I used it when the carpets were clean and new. Application is a bit more involved but not difficult. And you just need to let the carpets air it out before you put them back in the car, so I just left them to air out in the garage for a day or so. I've only had do this once so far since it is a pretty durable coating. I'm guessing I may only need to do it once every 1-2 years.

I have been using Lexol leather cleaner and also their conditioner on my G70. So far it seems to be safe. The cleaner recommends you wipe it on to clean then use a damp cloth to wipe the cleaner away before conditioning. I end up cleaning the radio and gloss black buttons with a damp cloth as the product leaves a film on those surfaces. I’ve also been using these two products on my 90 300zx and the leather still looks new.
