  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Price expectations for MY15 once MY16 is released?

I'm in the DC area, and looks like the average discount off a 2015 Genesis is around $5K to $7K depending on the model. I know many dealers have tons of Genesis cars on their lot, and very curious how the release of the 2016 will affect pricing for the 2015s (if at all), and how much more of a discount one should expect.

Also, what kind of discount (if any) should you expect on the 2016s when its released - when would we see prices start to be $4-5K off MSRP?

They actually disguise the discount and call it $500 certificates (the dealership receives a $500 certificate for every Genesis they sell) so you may get a $3000 added discount using these certificates.

Sorry, I am not following. Would the $3K be in addition to the current discounts of MY15s, or is that a potential discount for the new MY16s?

Hard to say until Hyundai releases the MY changes. There have been murmurs the changes will be trim level only with the incorporation of bird's eye view and 3D maps (like EU/KDM models). I suspect if (when) that happens the remaining dealer inventory will be highly incentivized

I'm currently shopping, and after having a look at the MY 2016 changes (there is another thread where the 2016 brochure was posted) - not enough for me to think the 2015's will be seriously discounted vs the 2016.

IMO - the best move, and what I'm doing now, is to find a very low mile Certified used 2015 and try to work a number close to 20% off MSRP.

2016 brochure posted in a thread here - none of those changes.

Can you like to that thread? All this time I've been waiting for info on MY16 and potentially losing discounts on 2015's

Foglights on the 3.8 Sig; is that it? Am I reading it correctly or missing something else? Please tell me I'm missing something more significant.
I think there are a few other new standard features on the base trim models such as automatic wipers. However, in the year after a major redesign (2015), there are usually not many (if any) changes. Why would you expect otherwise?

That and HID standard on the base model. About all that can be expected on a year 2 model - not unsual. Major refreshment would usually comes halfway through the cycle - making it 2017 or 2018.

Yes that will be discounts that are not given out on every deal, you have to ask for them. They are deals between Hyundai and the dealer.

I would agree with that, expect it might be a "minor refresh." One can pretty much guarantee that the tail lights and the wheels will change with the refresh, but we will have to see what else happens.

Which is why those leasing in 2015 can get a hold of the refreshed car as it comes out and the lease ends....

Never expected, more like hoped based on bits and pieces online. I hoped Hyundai would carry over a few features from other market's Genesis. 3D maps would've been cool but not a deal breaker. The exclusion of surround view camera is a head-scratcher.
We have a '16 Sorrento and use the camera view almost daily to navigate tight parking spaces and ground level fixtures. Its proven extremely helpful against bumper dings and wheel rash.

They've started advertising year-end clearance for 2015 models on TV here in Florida.

My $100 Garmin can do 3-D maps, but I don't use that feature because it seems like a gimmick to me.

"Cool story bro". :)

While if may be a gimmick to you, to other it may help with location recognition in unfamiliar areas. Maybe Hyundai isn't offering it in NA markets because it would be redundant with Android Auto/Carplay features. Just a thought.

Agreed. I actually find it very distracting. I guess those of us who grew up using ACTUAL maps are able to function just fine in a 2-d space. :)
