  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Question since we can't get headers for the 5.0 engines what if you gutted the primary cats in the manifolds and put hi flow cats in the exhaust. I know a guy that would port the exhaust manifolds but he said if might not help if the cats don't flow well. He ports headers and gets them to flow better. He said he has ported the intake manifold and got good gains. I going that route I have a bored out throttle body already 82mm to 85mm.

Do you not think you'll be throwing codes by gutting the primary cats?

You would still have primary cats not the ones in the manifolds but after them you put some hiflow ones. I don't know if it would a throw a code you would still have your oxygen sensors hooked up. I was trying to get someone else to answer the question like you asked. They sell kits for mustangs with the midsection with hiflow cats I bough one for my 1994 mustang haven't put them on yet.
