problem : no sound when locking/unlocking the car ,,,

Hello my friends
I have Hyundai Genesis Sedan 2013 GDi
But without a GPS and Bluetooth
however
my problem is when i unlocking or loching the car there are no sound (beep)

How can I turn on this sound when i unlocking the car make twice beep and when locking make one beep ?

How can i find the settings ?

In your owners manual under "Features of your vehicle" section 4.7 explains the door locks and their relationship to the "Smart Key" settings and operation.

If the locking and unlocking of the door does not work as stated in the owner manual the problem may have to be brought to the attention of the dealers service department.

I don't believe there is any way to get a sound acknowledging the unlocking of the door?

For the door locking acknowledgement, you may have lost the rubber bumper under the hood that checks if the hood is closed. It's on the driver's side about 1/3 of the way down the hood. If it fell out or is not pushing in it's matching button, the factory alarm system won't fully arm (which is why it won't beep to acknowledge locking).

If memory servers it may be something that you have to have the dealer turn on and off in the non DIS/touch screen Gennys. I know in the 2010 with tech the audio confirmations can be toggled on and off with the car in park and by selecting the Car Settings choice when in the Info Phone display mode, but that is not an option here.

Do the lights blink/flash when you try to lock the car? If not, the alarm system is not ARMing - ergo no sound either. Typically caused by the car thinking a door, the trunk, or the hood is open. Missing the rubber bit on the hood's left side (pushes on a button in the fender area) makes the car think the hood is open so the alarm never ARMs. There is a TSB on this. A too-short rubber bumper bit may cause this too; the TSB instructs dealers to install a new longer bumper.

If the lights do flash but there is no sound, it's a dealer trip. Non-Tech package cars have a setting that can be toggled on/off via the dealer's service computer (GDS or something like that). Tech package cars have this toggle in the user settings area. It's possible the alarm horn or control relay is kaput too.

Not 100% sure about the sedans, but in my coupe I just hold down the trip button and watch for the settings option to come up on the instrument cluster display. Once it comes up you can cycle through different options and I believe you can turn the beep on or off there. You also have to be stopped to access those settings.

Weird thing happen to me had no sound but you can hear the doors lock and unlock, so open the hood locate the hood closed sensor (driver side toward the end of the plastic cowl) and look up on the hood if your missing the plunger that depresses the switch then that's why your not getting the audible beeps.

Yes this happened to me, if your missing it hold the hood switch down with ur finger and arm the car it should beep once.

Sorry! I was way off! for some reason I though I could turn my locking/unlocking beeps off. Went back to look and I can only turn the auto locks and unlocks on or off...

But i have the rubber in my hood and all doors is close also the trunk but no beebs just the lights flash

My smart key have 3 buttons ( lock - unlock - trunk buttone ) is this the reason ?

Personally I don't want to hear the BEEP! I can tell the car is locked when the lights flash upon hitting the fob. Yesterday I was sitting outside at a restaurant and several people locked their car with the annoying BEEP.

2) Leave car in park, running.
3) Get out of the car (still running), but take your keys with you, and then close the door.
4) The car should emit a LONG LOUD BEEEEEP warning tone reminding you that you just got out of a running car.

If it does beep:
a) the problem is your alarm circuit.

If it does not beep: the problem is either:
b) the speaker that makes the beep doesn't work, OR
c) there is another key fob still inside the car somewhere (which is unlikely because then you wouldn't be able to lock the doors from outside the car).
