  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The old badge is not glued on,no amount of heat will help get it off. It is stamped in and the metal goes down deep into plastic. You can pry it out with a knife but yiou may damage plastic around badge. I did minor damage. after you pick the metal out bit by bit also using long nosr pliers, you have a raised "H",embosed under the removed badge. The new badge will not stick to it at all. Adhesive must be used. Good luck.

From what I've read the badge goes over the "H"; you don't have to remove it prior to installation. There have been several threads about this.

Correct - don't try to remove the original label. Just place the emblem right over it and you'll be fine. And don't use the extra sticky pad that's included - you don't need it.

There is another thread about this and it made it pretty clear to just use the one piece of tape that is already on the badge and put it right on top of the "H". I did it yesterday and as someone else said it took six seconds. Since I'm slower than average I think it may have actually taken six and a half seconds.

Steering wheel badge = seconds to apply, under $20

I purchased the steering wheel badge online, less than $20 incl. delivery in 5 days, from www.koreanautoimports.com (other Genesis accessories too).

The badge has the 3M tape on back and has a slight curve to it. No need to take original Hyundai badge off, as new winged badge fits perfectly over old one and looks stock, no telling it didn't come from factory like that. Nice.
(one of the attached pics has red tinge, a reflection from my shirt).

If you really want to do it right and don't mind spending a few bucks, you can use the actual Genesis winged factory replacement air bag cover. It is beautiful. That is what I did and I know a few others have also. I bought 2 from Korea KDM and would sell the spare for $150.00 shipped if anyone is interested. Took me all of 10 minutes to install.
