  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have about 200 entries in a Motorola RAZR V9. Most of the entries have two or more numbers in conventional naming arrangement, i.e. home, work, mobile. When I import the phonebook the Genesis takes the first number in each record and posts it as "mobile" and ignores the rest. The system will take more than one number if manually entered. How do I get it to import correctly?

Tech version?

Mine imported all of the numbers, but I had to manually change the "default" number for each entry. After the default is set, the system will no longer display info (name of caller, etc) for the non-default numbers for an entry.

do you have a problem with the phone screen reading unavailable? Mine does not show caller although it is loaded in the phonebook

You can import your mobile phone numbers into your Genny? I thought this was a manual process?

It was a manual process in my '09 Tech. It is automatic in my 2011 4.6.

I have the 2010 Tech 4.6. Is it a push from the phone or does the Genny pick up the phone book at pairing automatically. How did you do it?

This is 2011 V8. My problem is the DIS system is only taking in the first number in the phone record, regardless of how many numbers are in that record, i.e. Work, Home, Mobile. I'm slowly editing each entry to get the addition numbers in under the right heading. Now you've given me an additional piece of bad news if the system won't display caller info for "non-default" numbers. My understand of "default" was to identify which number to use for outgoing calls. So if I have John Doe entered with Home, Work, and Mobile numbers, it will only display his name for the default number?

Seems we have different symptoms. My 2011 V8 imports all of the numbers entered in my phone book, but only recognizes received calls from the default number for each contact. More troubling to me, it sporadically asks which number to dial if I use voice commands to dial out from the phone book.

Sarge:

I think that your description is a logical outfall of my issue. I've already noticed that the system will only "announce" the name of an incoming call if it is the default number. My problem is the system is only taking one number from each record. I've seen your problem in those few cases where I have manually entered additional numbers for a name.

Upon pairing my Droid X phone, the car automatically downloaded 80% of contacts (about 770 contacts). Some of the 20% it left out are important contacts I would like to have. I went and deleted a bunch of contacts from the phone. The challenge now is how do I get the car to resync the latest numbers on the phone? Do I need to unpair the phone and repair to get it to download contacts from the start?
