  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2019 Genesis G70 3.3t. The lane keep assist doesn’t maintain the lane very well if the corner is even slightly tight and will often turn itself off in the middle of a corner. I had Genesis look at it and they say they did a software update but I’m still having this problem. I took my car in for a recall and they gave me a G80 as a loaner and this one works perfectly. Has anyone else had a similar problem and were you able to resolve it?

What year was the loaner? Could it have HDA? That is far better than LKAS. I never relied on it in a corner, at best it is true to the name "assist".

It’s a 2024 G80

So a 5 year newer car. In terms of technology, that is more like a century. If the new G80 did not do a much better job, I would be very concerned about the direction of Genesis.

I have the basic HDA in my car so it doesn't change lanes by itself. It does a decent job of keeping my car in a lane so long as the turn is not too sharp. But I would never trust the car to properly stay in a lane or to change lanes. I view LKA as a useful assistant to my power steering but that is all.

LKA works perfectly on my '23 G70, and same thing with my ex-'22 Santa Fe Calligraphy, and ex-'21 Palisade Calligraphy. And I actually took a pretty tight turn, and it didn't let go. I obviously had my closed hand a millimeter or two from touching the wheel, just in case, but it held the line. But I never use it for curves; just in straight line, like if quickly eating a snack or something, and with no cars around.
